Abstract:
A semiconductor memory device including a bit-line sense amplifier is not affected by variation in manufacturing process and has a stable driving scheme. The semiconductor memory device includes: a unit memory cell for storing a data; a sense amplification unit including a bit-line sense amplifier (BLSA) for sensing and amplifying a voltage difference of a bit-line pair receiving the data of the unit memory cell; a variation detection unit for detecting a variation of a manufacturing process to output a detecting signal; and a sense amplifier controlling unit for controlling the BLSA to be activated after a predetermined time from an activation of unit memory cell in response to the detecting signal.
Abstract:
An edge type backlight assembly for an LCD includes a plurality of flexible printed circuit boards, each of which has a group of one or more LEDs mounted thereon and disposed adjacent to each other. If one of the LEDs is defective, only the board on which the defective LED is mounted needs to be replaced, thereby simplifying rework of the backlight assembly and reducing its manufacturing cost. Further, by coupling separate sources of power to the separate LED mounting boards, the amount of light emitted by separate regions of the display can be independently controlled.
Abstract:
A touch-screen display device includes a display panel, a touch panel, and an adhesive member. The display panel has a peripheral area surrounding an effective area. The touch panel is separated from and faces the display panel. The adhesive member has an adhesive part disposed along the peripheral area and an airing portion disposed along a portion of the peripheral area. The adhesive part adheres the touch panel and the display panel together. The airing portion blocks a particle from entering into a space between the touch panel and the display panel, and inflows and outflows air from the exterior to the space. Therefore, the touch panel and the display panel are coupled by the adhesive member having an airing portion formed thereon, so that a display error may be prevented.
Abstract:
A method for providing a menu screen and a video apparatus adopting the method are provided. The method includes generating a menu screen which displays a selected menu item and a selected sub-menu item of a plurality of sub-menu items of the selected menu item on a reference line, indicates a relative position of the selected sub-menu item with reference to the reference line, and combines the menu screen with a video to be displayed.
Abstract:
A line light source includes an illuminating bar having end portions opposite each other, and a light emitting diode disposed on each end portion of the illuminating bar. The end portions of the illuminating bar are each slant with respect to a vertical axis thereof at a predetermined slant angle. The illuminating bar includes a fluorescent material or a phosphorescent material.
Abstract:
In a two-way backlight assembly and a two-way LCD apparatus, the two-way backlight assembly provides light emitted from one light source to a first direction where a main LCD panel is placed and to a second direction where a sub LCD panel is placed. Also, a sub mold part for receiving the sub LCD panel comprises a black-colored material so as to prevent reflection of the light. Accordingly, thickness and power consumption of the backlight assembly may be reduced and display quality may be also improved by preventing leakage of the light at ends of the sub LCD panel.
Abstract:
A data output multiplexer for multiplexing and transferring data of a data input/output (I/O) line includes a first latch unit coupled to the data I/O line to latch the data of the data I/O line, a transmission gate unit to transfer an output of the first latch unit in response to control signals, a second latch unit to latch an output of the transmission gate unit, and a leakage current blocking unit to block leakage current between an input node and an output node of the transmission gate unit by fixing the input node and the output node at the same logic level values during a power down mode or a self refresh mode.
Abstract:
A backlight assembly supplies a guided light to a display panel having a main display part on which a main image is selectively displayed, and a sub display part on which a sub image is constantly displayed. The backlight assembly includes a light source and a light guiding unit. The light source generates a light. The light guiding unit includes a light incident surface, a light exiting surface, and a corresponding surface. The light from the light source is incident into the light incident surface. The light exiting surface has a main region and a sub region, the sub region having an optical pattern increasing a luminance of the light. The guided light exits the light exiting surface. The corresponding surface corresponds to the light exiting surface. A luminance uniformity and a luminance when viewed on a plane are increased.
Abstract:
An on screen display (OSD) apparatus and a method for displaying a menu on the OSD apparatus are provided. The ODS apparatus includes: a memory module which stores a system program and data for a first region, where the data for the first region includes a plurality of first menu items; a screen which displays the first region; an input device which generates signals for displaying the first region on the screen; and a controller which divides the first region into a first sub-region and a second sub-region by using the system program, upon receipt of signals from an input device, and which displays the first sub-region and the second sub-region at different heights on the screen.
Abstract:
A backlight assembly comprises a light source, and a chassis that receives the light source, wherein the chassis includes a body layer, a metal reflecting layer formed on the body layer to reflect light generated from the light source, an adhesive layer formed between the body layer and the metal reflecting layer, and a protecting layer formed on the metal reflecting layer.
