摘要： A stylus comprises a housing, a stylus body, a latching element and a shell. The housing has a receptacle defined therethrough. The stylus body is accommodated in the receptacle and located at one end of the housing. The stylus body has two opposite arms located at one end thereof, each arm has a protrusion protruding therefrom. The latching element is mounted in the receptacle and is located at another end of the housing opposite to the stylus body. The latching element has two opposite latching cantilever and each cantilever having a rib protruding therefrom. The shell is slidably accommodated in the receptacle and has two opposite latching slots defined therein. The latching slots latch with the protrusions to hold the stylus in a retracted state, and the latching slots latch with the ribs to hold the stylus in an extended state.

The housing includes a fixing portion, an opening and a receiving chamber communicating with the opening. The receiving chamber is configured to receive a stylus, the housing included. The locking assembly is attached to the fixing portion, and includes a button and an elastic member. The button defines a passage to allow the stylus to extend through and slide along a landscape orientation of the stylus. A protrusion is formed in the passage. The stylus is locked in the stylus retaining mechanism by engagement between the latching portion and the protrusion. The latching portion is disengaged from the protrusion when the button is depressed.

When the rotating plate rotates from a first state to an intermediate state, the biasing member is compressed by the rail to exert a force on the rotating plate and the retaining plate causing the rotating plate to automatically rotate toward an third state once the rotating plate passes the intermediate state.
