摘要: A communication unit and a method for communicating at least one signal over a channel of a first channel type and at least one signal over a channel of a second channel type, which is different from the first channel type. The apparatus comprises a timer adapted to schedule a predetermined time period, during which interference due to simultaneous communication of signals over the channel of the first channel type and the channel of the second channel type is anticipated. Also, the apparatus comprises a processing unit adapted to apply, during the predetermined time period, an interference counteracting process for counteracting interference between any signal communicated over the channel of the first channel type and any signal communicated over the channel of the second channel type. The interference counteracting process comprises changing, during the predetermined time period, from a first to a second format for representing information transmitted over the channel of the first channel type, the second format being more robust than the first format.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for scheduling resources for uplink transmissions in a radio access network comprising access points which own pre-assigned resources. The invention also relates to an access point (5-7), a user terminal (1-4) and an access point controller 8. Characteristic features of the invention are that each AP places its resources to the disposition of other APs in the access network, and that an AP (7) transmits a blocking signal (BLOCK R3) if it does not allow a UT (3), which is served by an AP (5) in another cell, to use its resources (R3). A UT that detects a blocking signal from an AP that owns the resources on which the UT is transmitting immediately stops transmission on said resources. The signal quality of a detected blocking signal may be used for setting the transmission power on the resources the UT has borrowed from the AP which transmits the blocking signal. Based on statistics on the APs which transmit blocking signals long-term pre-allocation of resources among the APs is made.

摘要: A cellular communications system that utilizes OFDM in its radio interface is capable of utilizing either a first subcarrier spacing or a second subcarrier spacing. Which of these is presently in use is indicated by generating a first type of synchronization signal in response to the first subcarrier spacing presently being in use, and generating a second type of synchronization signal in response to the second subcarrier spacing presently being in use. Whichever of the first type of synchronization signal and the second type of synchronization signal was generated is transmitted. To distinguish between the first and second types of synchronization signals, a time domain representation of the second type of synchronization signal includes a plurality of instances of the first type of synchronization signal.

摘要: For wireless networks that transmit synchronization signals allowing user equipment to synchronize to cells within the network and transmit reference signals allowing user equipment to determine cell identities, a method and apparatus taught herein advantageously link the synchronization signal sequences to the reference signal sequences according to a defined mapping. The linking simplifies the cell search process by allowing user equipment to determine cell identities based on mapping detected synchronization signal sequences to the corresponding reference signal or to the corresponding subset of reference signals in embodiments where there are more reference signal sequences than synchronization signal sequences. In at least one embodiment, the network is a 3G LTE network and at least the Primary Synchronization Signal (P-SyS) sequences are linked to the Downlink (DL) reference symbol sequences according to a defined mapping, thereby allowing to user equipment to determine cell identities from detected P-SyS sequences.

摘要: Methods for improving uplink communications in a Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) communication system, wherein mobile terminals can transmit at various transmission power levels. In a mobile terminal, the method includes the steps of receiving a configuration message having at least one of a power offset parameter and a maximum number of retransmission attempts parameter; when the mobile terminal performs a non-scheduled transmission, it transmits according to the parameters contained in the configuration message. In a network node, the method includes the steps of transmitting to at least one mobile terminal the configuration message having at least one of a power offset parameter and a maximum number of retransmission attempts parameter; and, adjusting a power setting for the transmission of acknowledgement or negative-acknowledgement messages from the wireless network to one or more of mobile terminals.

摘要: The present invention employs a power control methodology that adapts to the transmission load associated with communications between a base station and a mobile terminal. In one example embodiment, the base station gradually adjusts the power data transmitted to the mobile terminal based on that associated transmission load. As a result, radio channel quality measurements influenced by that base station data transmission to the mobile terminal are not significantly affected by the transmit power adjustment. In other words, the rate at which the transmit power is changed is slower than the rate at which mobile stations measure channel quality. For example, mobile terminals may detect a signal-to-interference ratio every time slot and use that quality measurement for purposes of selecting a maximum transmission rate for the next time slot. The transmit power might be changed by an incremental amount once every ten time slots. By only gradually changing the base station transmit power, the accuracy of the mobile terminal channel quality estimates is not significantly affected. Moreover, if there is a relatively low transmission load, the base station does not waste resources or generate unnecessary interference by transmitting at maximum power.

摘要: A transmit power control (TPC) method and a user equipment (UE) of a telecommunications network utilizing the TPC method. The UE receives TPC commands intended for traffic and control channels. The TPC commands are separately identified by logical or physical resources associated with the channels. When the traffic and control channel TPCs occupy the same resources, the UE applies common power control commands to the traffic and control channels. When the traffic and control channel TPCs occupy different resources, the UE applies separate power control commands to the traffic and control channels.

摘要: Methods and user equipment are provided for activation of downlink component carriers. Even though configured to monitor multiple component carriers, a user equipment unit does not start to monitor them immediately, but instead monitors only one or a few carriers initially. Once a downlink scheduling assignment is received, the user equipment unit will then monitor additional component carriers. After one or more subframes where the user equipment unit is not scheduled, the user equipment unit returns to its original state where it monitors one or a few carriers.
