Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to enhanced tone allocation. A device may schedule a number of station devices to be included in a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU) for a multiple-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmission. The device may limit a number of resource units (RUs) to be used in the PPDU for the MU-MIMO transmission. The device may use a minimum RU size to be at least 242 tones for the MU-MIMO transmission. A device may generate payload bits associated with a frame to be sent to a first station device. The device may generate a first output bits having a first length based on the application of a first mask of one or more masks to the payload bits. The device may generate a second output bits having a second length based on the application of a second mask of the one or more masks. The device may compare the first length of the first output bits to the second length of the second output bits. The device may select the first mask or the second mask based on the comparison. The device may convert the payload bits using the selected mask before passing through a shaping encoder to generate shaped bits. The device may cause to send the frame bits and an indication of the selected mask to the first station device.

Abstract: Embodiments of an Extremely High Throughput Station (EHT STA) (STA1) configured for operating in a next-generation (NG) wireless local area network (WLAN) are described herein. In some embodiments, the EHT STA encodes a common signal field (SIG) (Coex-SIG) of an EHT PPDU to include a TXOP duration field. The TXOP duration field is more than seven bits to indicate an actual TXOP duration of a transmission from the EHT STA comprising the EHT PPDU transmitted to a second station (STA2). Decoding the TXOP duration field of the EHT PPDU by a third-party station (STA4) causes the third-party station (STA4) to defer a transmission until after an end of the transmission from the second station (STA2).

Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA) and method of communication are generally described herein. In a null data packet (NDP) based ranging procedure between a responding STA and an initiating STA that is unassociated with the responding STA, the responding STA may: transmit a broadcast frame that indicates one or more ranging parameters; receive, from the initiating STA, an NDP announcement (NDPA) frame that indicates transmission of a first NDP from the initiating STA; detect the first NDP from the initiating STA; transmit a second NDP for transmission to the initiating STA; and transmit, to the initiating STA, a location measurement report (LMR) that indicates: a reception time of the first NDP at the responding STA, and a transmission time of the second NDP at the responding STA.

Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms for providing redundancy with multiple batteries of a backup power system. In an embodiment, switch circuits are each coupled between a power bus and a different respective one of the multiple batteries. Respective nodes of the switch circuits are each to couple to a different respective power sink, wherein power delivery to the power sinks is monitored. Based on the monitoring, the switch circuits are configured for a first battery to serve a substitute for a second battery. Configuring the switch circuits includes electrically decoupling the second battery from a first node, and electrically coupling the first battery to deliver power via both a power bus and the first node. In another embodiment, multiple backup units each include a respective battery and switch circuit, wherein respective controllers of the backup units intermittently communicate monitoring information via a data bus.

An apparatus of an access point (AP) or station (STA) comprising processing circuitry configured to decode a portion of a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU), the first portion of the PPDU including a physical universal signal field (U-SIG), the U-SIG comprising a version independent portion and a version dependent portion, the version independent portion including a version identifier field, the version identifier field indicating a standard version of the PPDU. The processing circuitry is further configured to refrain from decoding the version dependent portion when the standard version indicates a standard version of a later generation than a standard version of the AP or STA, and otherwise decode the version dependent portion in accordance with the standard version.
