    摘要: A catalyst system, which containsa) a source of a Group VIII metal, andb) a phosphine of general formula: ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently selected from an optionally substituted aryl group and a group of general formula: ##STR2## wherein each of A, X, Y and Z is independently selected from a nitrogen atom, a CH group and a group of formula CR wherein R represents a hydroxyl group, an amino group, an amido group, a cyano group, an aryl group, an aryloxy group, a halogen atom, an optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group or an optionally substituted hydrocarbyloxy group, it also being possible for two adjacent CR groups to form a ring, provided that at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represents a group of formula (II) in which at least one of A and Z represents a group of formula CR; or an acid addition salt thereof.Also disclosed is the use of the catalyst system in the selective carbonylation of unsaturated hydrocarbons.

    摘要: Certain linear alternating polymers of carbon monoxide and aliphatic .alpha.-olefin of 3 or more carbon atoms are characterized by a high degree of stereoregular character. Reduction of the degree of this stereoregular character, whether syndiotactic or isotactic, is achieved together with an increase in atactic character by contacting the stereoregular polymer with organic base at elevated temperature.

    摘要: Novel linear alternating copolymers of carbon monoxide and a 1,2-alkadiene are produced by contacting the carbon monoxide and alkadiene under polymerization conditions in the presence of a catalyst composition formed from a palladium compound, the anion of a non-hydrohalogenic acid having a pKa less than 4 and a bidentate ligand of nitrogen. The novel copolymers are formed in a mixture with linear alternating copolymer of carbon monoxide and ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon when an ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon is additionally present in the polymerization mixture.

    摘要: The invention is a linear random terpolymer comprised of repeating units of --CO--(C.sub.2 H.sub.4)-- and units of --CO--(C.sub.x H.sub.y)-- where x is greater than 2 and less than 20, having a melting point between about 150.degree. C. and about 245.degree. C. The invention also concerns a process to prepare a polymer having a melting point less than about 245.degree. C. which comprises contacting carbon monoxide and ethylene in the presence of one or more hydrocarbons C.sub.x H.sub.y containing an olefinically unsaturated --CH.dbd.CH-- group, where x is greater than 2 and less than 20, with a suitable catalyst and under conditions effective to prepare a linear random polymer having units of the formula --CO--(C.sub.2 H.sub.4)-- and units of the general formula --CO--(C.sub.x H.sub.y)--, and having a melting point less than about 245.degree. C.
