摘要: Man-portable locator systems for locating buried or otherwise inaccessible pipes, conduits, cables, wires and inserted transmitters using detector arrays and stochastic signal processing and similar techniques to analyze and display multiple target objects at differing frequencies in a layered user interface (UI) are described. In one embodiment, the locator UI may be adapted to present a target plurality sorted by proximity of target conductor to the locator operator together with other useful information specifying the multiple objects, frequencies and changes in the subterranean landscape by means of a useful combination of graphical, numeric and acoustic representations.

摘要: Various pipe inspection systems include a camera head operatively connected to the distal end of a push-cable. Images may be automatically captured at predetermined distances of travel, or may be automatically captured based on the output signals from the auto-focus, auto-exposure and/or auto-white balance engines indicating, for example, that the camera motion within the pipe is substantially zero. Images may be captured in an automatic mode at predetermined intervals as the camera head travels within the pipe or in an override mode initiated by operator command. The system may include a data transmission circuit that transmits data between a plurality of nodes at a frequency that does not substantially interfere with a normal base band video transmission frequency.

摘要: A portable self-standing electromagnetic (EM) field sensing locator system with attachments for finding and mapping buried objects such as utilities and with intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) displays. Accessories include a ground penetrating radar (GPR) system with a rotating Tx/Rx antenna assembly, a leak detection system, a multi-probe voltage mapping system, a man-portable laser-range finder system with embedded dipole beacon and other detachable accessory sensor systems are accepted for attachment to the locator system for simultaneous operation in cooperation with the basic locator system. The integration of the locator system with one or more additional devices, such as fault-finding, geophones and conductance sensors, facilitates the rapid detection and localization of many different types of buried objects.

The platform is configured for the rapid mounting and connection of an electronic computing device such as a laptop computer for providing display and/or virtual control interface functions in conjunction with an electronics module. An additional user interface, which may include a manual user interface device, may be coupled to the electronics module. Alternatively, a plurality of virtual controls may be supported by a software application on the electronic computing device, which may be connected to the camera controller platform by a USB or other interface bus.

摘要: A plurality of contact rings are supported in spaced relation on a cylindrical body about a common axis. A housing is located adjacent the contact rings and is configured to permit relative rotation between the contact rings and the housing about the common axis. A plurality of contact brushes each have a proximal end connected to a printed circuit board (PCB). A distal end of each of the contact brushes is slidably engaged with a corresponding one of the contact rings. Optionally a signal generating portion of a position encoder may be mounted on the PCB. The position encoder has a reference portion that is mounted on the cylindrical body.

摘要: An inductive clamp includes a pair of jaws configured to surround a conductor, and a pair of handles, each connected to a corresponding jaw. A pivotal connection is provided that allows the jaws to close around a conductor. The jaws are optionally biased to hold them closed around the conductor. A ferromagnetic core is mounted in each jaw and a coil surrounds at least one of the cores. An indicator is provided that tells a user that a signal has been applied to at least one of the cores.

摘要: A resilient, flexible video push cable is coiled in a stack of coils inside an annular portion of a non-rotating cable storage drum. A video camera head is electro-mechanically connected to a distal end of the push cable. A display is connected to a system interconnect cable which is in turn connected to a proximal end of the push cable. While the drum is held stationary, the push cable can be unwound from its main annular portion and the camera head pushed down a length of pipe. This unwinding of the push cable is facilitated by routing it through a centrally located frusto-conical guide portion of the drum. The video camera head can be pulled out of the pipe, and the push cable can be manually re-inserted through the guide portion to facilitate re-forming of the stack of coils within the main annular portion of the drum.
