    摘要: An apparatus and method are disclosed to configure, format, and test, a data storage subsystem product. The method supplies a data storage subsystem product comprising one or more host computer ports, a processor, one or more data storage device ports, and one or more data storage devices interconnected to the one or more data storage device ports. The method further supplies a configuration appliance comprising a storage configuration. The method connects the configuration appliance to one of the one or more storage device ports, boots up the data storage subsystem product, discovers the configuration appliance by the data storage subsystem product, imports storage configuration data into the data storage subsystem product, formats the one or more data storage device, and tests the input and output data transfer rates for the data storage subsystem product, wherein the formatting and testing are initiated concurrently.

    摘要: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture for relocating a logical volume from a first storage location to a second storage location using a copy relationship. An operation is initiated to move a logical volume from a first storage location to a second storage location. A relationship is established between the first and second storage locations to copy data in the logical volume from the first storage location to the second storage location. A read request is received to data in the logical volume while copying the data in the logical volume from the first storage location to the second storage location. A determination is made, in response to the read request, whether the requested data is at a first copy of the logical volume in the first storage location or a second copy of the logical volume at the second storage location. The requested data is returned from the determined first or second copy of the logical volume while the logical volume is being copied from the first storage location to the second storage location.

    摘要: A method of destage management of redundant data copies in a cache storage subsystem includes providing a plurality of target storage devices, each of the plurality of target storage devices capable of storing a complete copy of a data image. The data image and the plurality of target storage devices are subdivided into a plurality of sub-regions, each of the plurality of sub-regions organized such that a minimum cumulative total of the plurality of sub-regions on the target storage devices equals a number of sub-regions required to form the complete copy of the data image. Data is destaged from a write cache to the plurality of sub-regions on the target storage devices in an order such that a minimum number of sub-regions can be combined to restore the complete copy of the data image.

A first set of the plurality of pending storage operations is organized in a first array queue grouping (AQG). The AQG is structured such that all of the storage operations are completed within a predefined latency period. A computer-implemented method manages a plurality of pending storage operations in a disk storage system. A pending operation queue is examined to determine a plurality of read and write operations for a first array. A first set of the plurality of read and write operations is grouped into a first array queue grouping (AQG). The first set of the plurality of read and write operations is sent to a redundant array of independent disks (RAID) controller adapter for processing.

    摘要: Circuit boards capable of receiving different sets of electrical devices are fabricated from raw boards of the same type by forming respective networks of electrically conductive traces with a common layout on the raw boards, including open circuits within the networks. Electrical device receivers and controllers are then loaded on the boards, and some of the open circuits are closed such that some of the boards have different patterns of closed circuits and thereby different interconnections. Some of the receivers can accommodate two different types of electrical devices, with some of the boards configured to support one type and the others another type. The loading of receivers and controllers, and the closing of open circuits, can be performed simultaneously with the placement of zero ohm resistors used for circuit closings. Numerous different circuit board configurations can thus be supported from a common supply of raw boards.
