摘要： A disclosed fixing device fixes unfixed toner onto a recording sheet with the use of toner fixing liquid including a softening agent for softening toner. The fixing device includes a sprayer configured to spray the toner fixing liquid as liquid droplets and a liquid droplet charging unit configured to apply an electric charge to the sprayed liquid droplets. The sprayer sprays the liquid droplets onto the unfixed toner placed on the recording sheet. The liquid droplet charging unit applies, to the sprayed liquid droplets, an electric charge of an electric charge polarity that is the same as that of the unfixed toner.

摘要： A liquid developer capable of preventing each of the disadvantages of uneven development density caused by uneven distribution of colored particles, poor transfer due to an insufficient amount of the liquid, and poor fixing due to an excess amount of the liquid, without complicating handling with the generation of volatile gas. Present on the surface of toner particles to be dispersed in a carrier liquid made of dimethyl silicone are a silicone group of one-end methacryloxy-modified silicone and a basic group. The silicone group prevents agglutination of the toner particles with each other. The silicone group functions as an affinity group and provides the toner particles with an affinity to the carrier liquid. Thus, it becomes possible to disperse the toner particles uniformly in the carrier liquid. Besides, the basic group on the surface of toner particles allows the toner particles to ensure the desired charge amount. Therefore, colored particles such as the toner particles hardly agglutinate with each other in a nonpolar insulating liquid to be provided as a nonaqueous solvent, while the colored particles can be electrophoresed at high speed by an electric field.

摘要： An apparatus for removing images on an image carrier sheet to allow the image carrier sheet to be repeatedly used. The apparatus includes an image removing member for removing images from an image carrier sheet, the images being fixed on the image carrier sheet. A liquid supply supplies a liquid to the image removing member and a transporting mechanism transports the image carrier sheet with the fixed images to the image removing member. The fixed images on the image carrier sheet are removed by the image removing member when the liquid supplied to the image removing member is applied to a surface of the image carrier sheet. A pressing member presses the surface of the image carrier sheet against the image removing member, the image removing member including a squeeze roller. The liquid supply means includes a liquid supply roller and the transporting mechanism comprises a pair of transport rollers. The squeeze roller is rotated at a higher speed than the pair of transport rollers.
