摘要: Provided in one example herein is a liquid electrophotographic ink composition. The composition comprises: a carrier fluid comprising a polymer; ink particles each comprising a non-aqueous polymeric resin and pigment particles distributed in the polymeric resin; and a charge director. The pigment particles comprise a metal oxide and have a hydrophobic surface. The hydrophobic surface comprises at least one of the following: (i) nanoparticles attached to each of the pigment particles, the nanoparticles comprising at least one of an oxide, a phosphate, and a nitrate; (ii) a coating disposed over each of the pigment particles, the coating comprising at least one of an oxide, a phosphate, and a nitrate; and (iii) a coating disposed over each of the pigment particles, the coating comprising at least one of a polymer and an oligomer.

摘要: In an example of a method for making polymer-encapsulated metallic ink pigment particles, a layer of a transparent resin dispersion is disposed on a flexible substrate. The resin dispersion layer is substantially dried, and a base resin layer is formed. A slurry is disposed onto the base resin layer. The slurry includes metallic pigment particles and polymer particles dispersed in a non-aqueous carrier. The slurry is dried to form a metallic pigment-polymer sheet. Another layer of the transparent resin dispersion is disposed on the metallic pigment-polymer sheet and is dried. A coating resin layer is formed. The metallic pigment-polymer sheet and the base and coating transparent resin layers form a tri-layer film having the metallic pigment particles encapsulated between the base and coating transparent resin layers.

In the developer the cationically polymerizable liquid monomer contains a vinyl ether compound, the molar average SP value of the cationically polymerizable liquid monomer is not more than 9.0, the molar average number of functional groups for the cationically polymerizable liquid monomer is at least 1.8, the photoinitiator contains a specified compound, and the content of the specified compound is at least 0.01 mass parts and not more than 5.00 mass parts per 100 mass parts of the cationically polymerizable liquid monomer.

The polymerizing and/or the cross-linking of the hydrocarbon is configured to form a polymer matrix (12) from the ejected printing composition.
