摘要: The present invention generally relates to microparticles and, in particular, to systems and methods for encapsulation within microparticles. In one aspect, the present invention is generally directed to microparticles containing entities therein, where the entities contain an agent that can be released from the microparticles, e.g., via diffusion. In some cases, the agent may be released from the microparticles without disruption of the microparticles. The entities may be, for instance, polymeric particles, hydrogel particles, droplets of fluid, etc. The entities may be contained within a fluid that is, in turn, encapsulated within the microparticle. The agent may be released from the entity into the fluid, and then from the fluid through the microparticle. In such fashion, the release of agent from the microparticle may be controlled, e.g., over relatively long time scales. Other embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to methods of making such microparticles, methods of using such microparticles, microfluidic devices for making such microparticles, and the like.

摘要: Disclosed are compositions and methods related to clot binding compounds. For example, disclosed are conjugates comprising a surface molecule and a plurality of clot binding compounds. The clot binding compounds can selectively bind to clotted plasma protein. The conjugate can, for example, cause clotting and amplify the accumulation of the conjugate in tumors. In one example, the conjugate can comprise a sufficient number and composition of clot binding compounds such that the conjugate causes clotting and amplifies the accumulation of the conjugate in tumors. The disclosed targeting is useful for treatment of cancer and other diseases and disorders.

摘要: The invention provides a process for the preparation of essential oil microcapsules comprising dissolving a di- or polyisocyanate into an essential oil, emulsifying the resulting mixture in an aqueous solution containing a di- or polyamine, and or a di or polyhydroxy compound to effect encapsulation of said essential oil through interfacial polymerization, whereby there is formed a polyurea and/or polyurethane film around the essential oil droplets which film enhances the stability of said essential oil, reduces its evaporation rate and controls its release rate when applied to a substrate.

摘要: A thermoplastic molding composition is provided, which comprises A) from 30 to 90% by weight of at least one thermoplastic polymer, B) from 10 to 70% by weight of microcapsules with a capsule core made of latent-heat-accumulator material and a polymer as capsule wall, where the latent-heat-accumulator material has its solid/liquid phase transition in the temperature range from −20° C. to 120° C., and C) from 0 to 60% by weight of one or more further additive, where each of the percentages by weight is based on the total weight of components A) to C) and these give a total of 100% by weight, obtainable via mixing in the melt of components A), B), and optionally C) in a multiscrew extruder, where the multiscrew extruder comprises, along the direction of conveying, in this sequence, at least one feed zone, one plastifying zone, one homogenizing zone, and one discharge zone, and the feed of the microcapsules B) into the multiscrew extruder takes place at a site after—in the direction of conveying—the plastifying zone. And also a process for producing the composition and uses of the composition for producing fibers, foils, moldings, and foams are provided.
