摘要： A system for anchoring a lead within a cranial burr hole. The system provides for a lead to be anchored in either of two sizes of burr holes. In further provides for the lead to remain secured to the stereotactic instrument during the installation of the lead anchoring system. The lead anchoring system consists of three parts: A plug having a central lead passage; a cap configured to fit over the plug while the lead is retained by the stereotactic instrument and thereby seal the burr hole and anchor the lead; and a socket designed to permit the plug to be fitted within a larger sized burr hole. In the preferred embodiment each of the parts, i.e. plug, socket and cap are constructed from silicone. The anchoring system of the present invention may be employed with a stimulation lead, a sensing lead, a combination thereof or any other elongated member requiring passage and fixation through the cranium.

摘要： An end cap having a longitudinal axis is provided. The end cap includes a stationary portion, a movable portion, and a clamping member. The movable portion has a cam surface and the clamping member has a free end. The movable and stationary portions are interconnected so that the movable portion moves between a locked position and an unlocked position. The cam surface influences the clamping member when the movable portion is in the locked position such that the cam surface resiliently flexes the clamping member to move the free end at least perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

The actuator (12) being attachable to a plunger (35) of the pump mechanism (14) and comprising an actuating linkage (23) having a portion offset to the plunger axis such that when pressure is applied to the actuating linkage (23) in a direction transverse to the plunger axis the plunger (35) moves axially. The compact further comprises an inner lid (11) hingedly connected to the base (3), the inner lid (11) comprising a button (7) in cooperation with the actuator (12) such that when pressure is applied to the button (7) the plunger (35) moves axially to expel liquid from the dispensing orifice (20).

摘要： A heat sink for a handheld device is formed as a one piece chassis for supporting heat-producing circuits inside the device while having heat radiating surfaces outside the device. In another embodiment a battery pack control circuit under microprocessor control allows battery packs having different battery chemistries and characteristics to be interchanged in the same device without switches or adapters. Control of operating modes of the device despite changes in the battery pack including battery chemistry, state of charge, available voltage, or desired operating mode are automatic. The microprocessor measures the battery pack characteristics, using look up tables in a suitable program to adjust the circuit operating modes. The microprocessor also responds to sequential switch contact closures in setting operating modes.

摘要： An attachment for a cleaning appliance includes a head and a neck, the neck being adapted to be connected to the mouth of a wand or hose of the cleaning appliance. The neck has a first portion which, in use, lies alongside the mouth of the wand or hose and a second portion which, in use, is spaced away from the mouth of the wand or hose. This arrangement provides a bleed air passageway which allows atmospheric air to be bled into the hose or wand so as to reduce the suction at the main suction opening of the attachment. It also provides an advantageous storage solution for the attachments of the cleaning appliance.
