    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, at a second protocol layer of the UE and from a first protocol layer of the UE, the second protocol layer being lower than the first protocol layer, an indication of one or more quality of service parameters associated with a data packet to be transmitted by the UE. The UE may identify, from the one or more quality of service parameters, directional coverage information associated with the data packet, the directional coverage information indicative of one or more transmission directions in which the data packet is to be transmitted. The UE may transmit the data packet in accordance with at least the directional coverage information of the one or more quality of service parameters.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for sidelink communications in an unlicensed spectrum. A method that may be performed by a first user equipment (UE) of a plurality of UEs includes sensing a frequency band to determine whether the frequency band is idle, the sensing occurring prior to a first time period. In some examples, the method may include transmitting, by the first UE, one or more signals over the frequency band during the first time period based on determining that the frequency band is idle, the one or more signals indicating that the frequency band is reserved for wireless communication between the plurality of UEs during the first time period.

In some aspects, an encoder device may transmit a network coded sidelink retransmission that is associated with a set of transport blocks (TBs), the set of TBs associated with one or more sidelink transmissions. The encoder device may receive, from one or more user equipments (UEs), first feedback information, associated with the network coded sidelink retransmission, that indicates whether the one or more UEs successfully decoded the set of TBs. The encoder device may transmit, to a base station, second feedback information associated with the network coded sidelink retransmission that is based at least in part on the first feedback information.
