    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for applying attributes to subtitles. One example method includes accessing a subtitle file, wherein the subtitle file comprises one or more subtitles, and identifying an attribute to apply to at least a subset of the subtitles. The subtitle file is amended indicate an attribute to apply to at least a subset of the subtitles to create an amended subtitle file. At a computing device, the subtitles of the amended subtitle file are generated for display, wherein the attribute is applied to the subset of the subtitles.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for selective playback of portions of audio at normal speed during a fast-forward operation. Upon receiving a command to perform a fast-forward operation, a current playback position is identified, as well as a plurality of portions of audio of the content item that will be subject to the fast-forward operation. A subset of the audio portions that will be subject to the fast-forward operation are selected. The fast-forward operation is initiated, and video of the content item is played back at the increased speed while the selected portions of audio of the content item are played back at normal speed.

A scheduled break in the display of the media content is determined using control circuitry.     Abstract: In systems and methods for enhancing group watch experiences, a first user's reaction is detected using multiple sensors, e.g., at least one camera and a microphone, and may be combined with context information to determine an action to perform at user equipment devices of other users participating in the group watch to convey the first user's reaction. Images from the at least one camera can be used to determine a portion of the screen to which the user's reaction is directed and/or another user to whom the reaction is directed.     Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for presenting an advertisement to a first participant of a plurality of participants of a conversation based on interests of other participants of the conversation. The conversation is monitored and a profile of the first participant is accessed. An interest category of a first interest term included in the profile is identified. A second interest term is identified from a portion of the conversation provided by a second participant of the plurality of participants. In response to determining that the second interest term is different from the first interest term and that the second interest term is in the identified interest category, an advertisement matching the second interest term is identified and generated for presentation on user equipment of the first participant.
