Abstract:
A wall construction system includes a footer with a plurality of vertical rebar. A first layer of horizontal rebar is attached to the vertical rebar above the footer and a first layer of blocks is attached onto the footer. A plurality of joining strips is pressed into the longitudinal grooves atop each block, with about half their width protruding from the grooves. A plurality of lateral clips is attached to the pair of joining strips and across the top of the blocks, perpendicular to the longitudinal grooves. A second layer of horizontal reinforcing bar is laid across the lateral clips and attached to the vertical reinforcing bars. A second layer of foam blocks is placed atop the first layer of blocks, with the blocks' lower longitudinal grooves engaged onto the joining strips atop the first layer of blocks. The reinforcing bars are approximately centered within the continuous air gaps formed between the adjacent blocks, both horizontally and vertically. The wall is built with additional layers, as previously described, as high as desired, and concrete is poured into the horizontal and vertical air gaps between adjacent blocks to envelope the horizontal and vertical reinforcing bars.
Abstract:
An apparatus for delivering desired counts of products to containers. The apparatus includes a conveyor for moving discrete product portions along a path of travel. A force detecting device located along the path of travel measures force applied to the force detecting device. A counter adds one to a product count each time a force in a product identifying range is measured. A directing structure directs the product portions into a first container until the product count reaches a desired container count and directs the product portions into a second container after the product count reaches the desired container count.
Abstract:
This invention relates to pharmaceutical combinations of amlodipine or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof and statins or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, kits containing such combinations and methods of using such combinations to treat subjects suffering from angina pectoris, atherosclerosis, combined hypertension and hyperlipidemia and to treat subjects presenting with symptoms of cardiac risk, including humans. This invention also relates to additive and synergistic combinations of amlodipine or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof and statins or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof whereby those additive and synergistic combinations are useful in treating subjects suffering from angina pectoris, atherosclerosis, combined hypertension and hyperlipidemia and those subjects presenting with symptoms of cardiac risk, including humans.
Abstract:
A drill template includes a vacuum housing with a skirt having a CAD-formed contact surface formed to an exact fit with a mold line surface of a structure. The drill template includes at least one drill guide bushing extending through the vacuum housing from a top surface to an interior surface of the vacuum housing; a vacuum port integral to the vacuum housing; and at least one index hole for positioning and aligning the vacuum housing on the structure. Index holes extend from the top surface through to the CAD-formed contact surface of the vacuum housing. A CAD-formed edge of part locator is formed according to a CAD solid model of the aircraft fuselage and fits to a precise location of the structure for precisely positioning the template on the structure. A vacuum port provides vacuum to the interior of the vacuum housing for removing drilling debris and dust.
Abstract:
A protocol management system is capable of detecting certain message protocols and applying policy rules to the detected message protocols that prevent intrusion, or abuse, of a network's resources. In one aspect, a protocol message gateway is configured to apply policy rules to high level message protocols, such as those that reside at layer 7 of the ISO protocol stack.
Abstract:
An adjustable drill template has a base plate and a plurality of drill blocks. The drill blocks are movably coupled to the base plate. The drill blocks can move along the length of the base plate so that the drill blocks can be configured to conform to a desired hole pattern. A locking device coupled to each drill block will hold each drill block in a desired position.
Abstract:
Compounds of the formula: where the formula variables are as defined herein, are disclosed that advantageously inhibit or block the biological activity of the HIV protease. These compounds, as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds, are useful for treating patients or hosts infected with the HIV virus. Intermediates and synthetic methods for preparing such compounds are also described.
Abstract:
A method and system for reputation-based resource allocation for networking. The present invention provides a method for determining an allocation of a plurality of computer resources based on a reputation factor for each of the one ore more clients. Clients associated with bad reputation factors may be denied or delayed from computer resources. According to an embodiment, the method is used in a computer network environment wherein one or more clients share a plurality of computer resources. The method includes a step of providing a network appliance. The network appliance includes one or more memories and a central processing unit. The networking appliance has at least a first port and a second port. The first port and the second port exchanges a stream of information. The network appliance is characterized by a limited quantity of system resources. The method also includes a step for processing the stream of network traffic.
Abstract:
A dental curing light includes a body, one or more LEDs configured to emit a first spectrum of light having a relatively short first peak wavelength (e.g., UV) disposed on the body, and a fluorescing lens that converts at least a portion of the first spectrum of light into a second spectrum of light having a second peak wavelength that is longer than the first peak wavelength. The second spectrum of light is selected so as to match the curing spectrum of a desired light-curable dental composition. In a preferred embodiment, the body comprises an elongate wand having a proximal end and distal end. The LEDs may be disposed at or near the distal end of the elongate wand.
Abstract:
A housing for a scale or load cell controller suitable for use in harsh environments. The housing includes a moisture-resistant front display unit coupled to a rear interface and mounting unit. The front display unit includes a front housing, a back housing, and a frame overlying a boundary or seal region between the front and back housings to provide a double moisture-resistant seal between the front and back housings. The front display unit defines an interior region including a display and a plurality of user input keys and controller circuitry. The front display unit is removably attachable to the rear interface unit. A moisture-resistant seal is also provided between the front display unit and the rear interface and mounting unit. The rear interface and mounting unit defines a recessed area supporting a battery pack, a power supply and an interface circuit board. Circuitry in the front display unit is electrically coupled to circuitry in the rear interface and mounting unit via an edge connector circuit card that extends through an opening in the front display unit and mates with an edge connector socket supported in the rear interface and mounting unit.
