An apparatus for an idle mode terminal is configured to perform a method for operating the idle mode terminal in a Machine to Machine (M2M) communication system. A paging message is received from the base station during a paging listening interval. The Apparatus determines whether an indicator indicating receipt of multicast group data is included in the paging message. When the indicator indicating the receiving of multicast group data is included, data transmitted via a downlink resource that uses an identifier mask of a multicast group to which a terminal belongs is received. Thereafter, a paging non-listening interval is entered.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus of cooperating with a plurality of base stations in a wireless communication system. A cloud cell is configured with a plurality of base stations that cooperate with each other for a mobile station and synchronizes user contexts for serving the mobile station among the plurality of base stations included in the cloud cell, and the plurality of base stations cooperate with each other to provide a communication service to the mobile station. The present disclosure reduces generation of a handover when the mobile station moves between base stations, and increases the data yield of the mobile station by transmitting and receiving data in cooperation with base stations in a cloud cell at a shaded area or a cell border.

Communication methods and apparatuses in a wireless communication system are provided. Information relating to Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) parameter sets supported by a Base Station (BS), from among a plurality of OFDM parameter sets, is transmitted to at least one Mobile Station (MS), from the BS, using a default OFDM parameter set. The BS selects at least one OFDM parameter set for the at least one MS, from among the OFDM parameter sets supported by the BS, based on one of a channel state and a mobility of the at least one MS. The BS performs data communication with the at least one MS through the at least one selected OFDM parameter set. Each of the plurality of OFDM parameter sets comprises parameter values representing a Cyclic Prefix (CP) length, a subcarrier spacing, and at least one of an Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) size and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) size. The default OFDM parameter set is determined based on subcarrier spacings of the plurality of OFDM parameter sets.

A mobile device includes a receiver configured to perform hybrid precoding on signals received through a large bandwidth communication. The receiver includes a plurality of antennas configured to receive wireless communications signals through the large bandwidth communication. The receiver also includes a number of radio frequency (RF) chains, each comprising a low-bit analog to digital converter (ADC) configured to preform precoding to receive the data and control signals. The receiver further includes a baseband processor configured to perform baseband detection.

A method includes configuring a first sounding channel to be an uplink sounding slot. The uplink sounding slot has at least one OFDM symbol in an uplink sub-frame in order to carry UL-SRSs corresponding to at least one transmit beam of a first set of transmit beams in a first sounding channel set of sub-bands. The first sounding channel set of sub-bands includes sub-bands that cover a first data bandwidth. The method includes transmitting, to an MS, a first UL sounding configuration message that sets a sounding sub-band bitmap value to a maximum specifiable value and indicates UL-SRS placement in the first sounding channel set of sub-bands. The method includes, receiving through the first sounding channel set of sub-bands from the MS, the UL-SRSs corresponding to at least the one transmit beam of the first set of transmit beams for channel estimation over the first data bandwidth.

A method for reducing power consumption of a macro Base Station (BS) in a radio communication system is provided. The method includes transmitting a preamble through at least one mini BS installed within a service coverage area of the macro BS, and transmitting a power-off command to the at least one mini BS after being switched into a power-on state, upon reception of access request information through the at least one mini BS from a terminal that received the preamble.

A communication system includes a plurality of eNodeBs (eNBs) configured to serve one or more user equipments (UEs). The plurality of eNBs includes a first eNB and a second eNB. The first eNB is configured to wirelessly communicate on a resource with the second eNB. The resource includes a time resource and/or a frequency resource. The first and second eNBs are configured to cooperatively serve the one or more UEs. A method and an apparatus for providing a service to a Mobile Station (MS) by a plurality of Base Stations (BSs) operating in cooperation in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes configuring, by a master BS, a first cooperative cell including at least one slave BS, sending a resource request message for requesting resource allocation to the at least one slave BS included in the first cooperative cell, receiving, from each of the at least one slave BS, a resource request response message including resource approval control results for the resource allocation request, changing member BSs constituting the first cooperative cell based on the resource request response message, and allocating resources to an MS that is served in the first cooperative cell.

An apparatus and a method for performing a point-to-multi point communication in a communication system are provided. The apparatus includes a base station configured to receive and transmit at least one of data on a mobile station, control information of the mobile station, schedule information on the mobile station, and control information on a communication link with at least one base station with respect to at least one base station in which a communication link is not set up through a core network. The base station services at least one mobile station at the same time together with a base station in which a communication link is set up through a core network.
