    Abstract: A base station includes a transmit path circuitry to transmit an indication of whether a subscriber station is configured with precoding matrix indicator/rank indicator (PMI/RI) reporting. The transmit path circuitry sets a pre-coding granularity to multiple physical resource blocks in the frequency domain to perform a same pre-coding over a bundled resource block if the subscriber station is configured with PMI/RI reporting. The bundled resource block includes multiple consecutive physical resource blocks in the frequency domain. The base station also includes a receive path circuitry to receive feedback from the subscriber station.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) for receiving control information in a wireless communication system includes a transceiver configured to receive a synchronization signal/physical broadcasting channel (SS/PBCH) block of an index i from a BS, wherein SS/PBCH block comprises a PBCH carrying master information block (MIB). The UE includes a processor configured to for the SS/PBCH block of the index i, determine a slot index n0 as a sum of an offset value and └i*M┘. The offset value is determined based on a first value O determined according to the index indicated in the MIB, wherein the index configures PDCCH monitoring occasions, and a second value μ indicated in the MIB, wherein the second value μ represents a subcarrier spacing configuration, wherein M is a positive number determined according to the index indicated in the MIB, and cause the transceiver to decode a PDCCH in the slot index n0.

    Abstract: A base station capable of communicating with a user equipment (UE) includes a transceiver configured to transmit 8-port Channel State Information-Reference Signal (CSI-RS) according to a CSI-RS configuration for the UE, and downlink signals containing the CSI-RS configuration on physical downlink shared channels (PDSCH), and receive, from the UE, uplink signals containing Precoder Matrix Indicator (PMI) derived using the 8-port CSI-RS, and a controller configured to convert the PMI to one of predetermined precoding vectors. A user equipment includes a transceiver configured to receive downlink signals containing a CSI-RS configuration on PDSCH transmitted by the BS, and 8-port CSI-RS according to the CSI-RS configuration, and transmit uplink signals containing a PMI, a controller configured to decode the CSI-RS configuration from the downlink signals, and derive the PMI by utilizing channel estimates based on the 8-port CSI-RS, the PMI mapped to one of precoding vectors.

    Abstract: A system and method for enhanced cell detection by a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The UE includes a transceiver configured to receive a discovery reference signal (DRS) occasion from at least one transmission point. The DRS occasion comprising a set of consecutive DRS sub-frames. The UE also includes processing circuitry configured to: in response to detecting a physical cell identity (PCID) of a Primary Synchronization Signal (PSS)/Secondary Synchronization Signal (SSS)/Cell-Specific Reference Signal (CRS) that is the same as a reference PCID for a configured Channel State Information—Reference Signal (CSI-RS) resource, the processing circuitry attempts to detect or measure the CSI-RS using the timing obtained from the PSS/SSS/CRS; and in response to not detecting a PCID of PSS/SSS/CRS that is the same as the reference PCID for a configured CSI-RS resource (TP), the processing circuitry does not attempt to detect or measure the CSI-RS.

    Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for synchronization signal (SS) block index and timing indication in wireless communication systems. A method of operating a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station (BS), sets of higher-layer configuration information. When configured for mobility measurement on SS and physical broadcast channel (PBCH) (SS/PBCH) blocks, the UE identifies, based on one of the sets of higher-layer configuration information, a first set of SS/PBCH blocks configured for the mobility measurement; and measures and reports mobility measurement quantities for the first set of SS/PBCH blocks. When configured for receiving a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), the UE identifies, based on another of the sets of higher-layer configuration information, a second set of SS/PBCH blocks configured for the UE; and receives the PDSCH with rate matching around a SS/PBCH block included in the second set of SS/PBCH blocks.

    Abstract: A method for channel state information (CSI) reporting is provided. The method comprises receiving, by a user equipment (UE) from a base station (BS), a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) signaling including a quasi co-location (QCL) indication between a first resource and a second resource and activation of the second resource, wherein the UE is configured with the second resource for CSI reporting; and identifying, by the UE from the MAC-CE signaling, the activation of the second resource and a QCL relation between the first resource and the second resource based on the QCL indication.
