Abstract: Provided is a light-emitting device that can display an image with a wide color gamut or a novel light-emitting element. The light-emitting device includes a plurality of light-emitting elements each of which includes an EL layer between a pair of electrodes. Light obtained from a first light-emitting element through a first color filter has, on chromaticity coordinates (x, y), a chromaticity x of greater than 0.680 and less than or equal to 0.720 and a chromaticity y of greater than or equal to 0.260 and less than or equal to 0.320. Light obtained from a second light-emitting element through a second color filter has, on chromaticity coordinates (x, y), a chromaticity x of greater than or equal to 0.130 and less than or equal to 0.250 and a chromaticity y of greater than 0.710 and less than or equal to 0.810. Light obtained from a third light-emitting element through a third color filter has, on chromaticity coordinates (x, y), a chromaticity x of greater than or equal to 0.120 and less than or equal to 0.170 and a chromaticity y of greater than or equal to 0.020 and less than 0.060.

Abstract: A high-purity organometallic iridium complex is provided. The organometallic iridium complex includes iridium and a plurality of ligands cyclometallated to the iridium. Each of the plurality of ligands includes a heteroaromatic ring having a coordinatable nitrogen atom. In LC analysis of the organometallic iridium complex, an impurity which has a monochlorinated ligand among the plurality of ligands is 0.1% or less by quantitating using peak area count with a PDA detector.

Abstract: A light-emitting element and its fabrication method are provided. The light-emitting element includes an EL layer between a pair of electrode, and the EL layer is formed by evaporation of an organic compound. The evaporation is conducted so that the partial pressure of a component with a specific molecular weight in a film-formation chamber, which is monitored by a mass spectrometer, does not exceed a specific value during the evaporation. This method allows the formation of a light-emitting element having an improved lifetime.

Abstract: A highly reliable light-emitting element that shows a novel degradation curve when driven is provided. The degradation curve of a light-emitting element with a long lifetime is represented by a function composed of two exponential functions, which is a linear combination of an exponential function expressing an initial degradation component and an exponential function expressing a long-term degradation component. The initial degradation component is represented by a stretched exponential function, and the long-term degradation component is represented by a single exponential function. The light-emitting element is highly reliable when formed to show a degradation curve represented by the function composed of two exponential functions. In other words, the function composed of two exponential functions in one embodiment of the present invention is capable of accurately fitting the degradation curve of the highly reliable light-emitting element.
