摘要： A DC Solid State Overload Relay for use with a DC motor controller is provided with functions to provide instantaneous and delayed tripping of an overload relay by monitoring a standard ammeter shunt signal placed in the power line. The relay circuit uses dropping resistors and a sensing unit with the sensing unit containing separate presetable adjustment for the instantaneous and delayed tripping function and further has automatic reset provisions and a trip indicator which indicates the cause of relay tripping.

The cover is hingedly attached to the housing by a J-shaped arm and the cover has a skirt, one surface of which faces walls formed on the arm. The skirt has cam and stop surfaces defining a recess which engages a wall on the arm in the specific position, acting as a detent to inhibit rotational movement of the cover when it is open. Limited tilting movement of the cover is permitted by a sinuous spring in the mounting of the cover on the arm. A stop pin on the skirt prevents the cover from being rotated by 180.degree..

摘要： A general purpose receptacle having selective single and split circuit electrical modes is adapted for mounting in a standard floor or wall mounting box. The receptacle is formed of a molded, one-piece receptacle body and a molded, one-piece receptacle front. Selection of single or split circuit operating modes is achievable by a break-off tab which normally electrically connects two sets of female contacts as a single circuit but which can be broken off so that the female contact sets are electrically separated. The receptacle is wired by placing the unstripped ends of insulated conductors at insulation severing terminals connected to the female contacts and forcing the conductors into the terminals. To accomplish this, a pair of suitably shaped side covers are hinged to the front part of the receptacle top to provide the requisite insulation-displacement forces. With the side covers secured in position, no terminals are exposed which might otherwise make electrical contact with metallic parts of the mounting box. Mounting, insulation severing and circuit mode selection can all be performed by using a screwdriver.

摘要： There is provided an insulated high voltage cable which possesses the property of lower dielectric losses than prior art cables. The cable comprises a conductor insulated with at least two laminar layers of insulating material. At least one of the layers is relatively thick and has a low SIC. At least one other of the layers has a high SIC and is in contact with a surface of the low SIC layer. The high SIC layer is relatively thin and has a tan .delta./SIC value no greater than 0.005 over a temperature range of 40.degree. to 90.degree. C.

摘要： A cable grip adapted to enclose a cable and comprising a split sleeve of open meshed structure with two series of loops along the two free longitudinal edges and a flexible locking member having a central loop and two legs extending from that loop for interconnecting the interfingered series of loops. The central loop is received in two adjacent loops at one end of the two longitudinal edges, and the legs extend through each of the remaining interfingered loops and are coupled together at the other end of these edges. To form the closure for the split sleeve, the sleeve is first wrapped around the cable so that the two series of loops are interfingered except for two adjacent loops at the top end, a rigid pin is maneuvered through all but the two top loops, the flexible locking member is maneuvered through these top loops and secured to the pin, and the pin is withdrawn, pulling the locking member with it through the remaining loops. Then, the locking member is released from the pin and is fastened in place.

摘要： The male portion of a connector assembly of the locking type has blades insertable into slots in the mating female portion, the male portion then being rotatable to lock the blades against direct axial extraction. A spring urged locking pin adjacent the trailing edge of at least one blade normally protrudes from the connector face, is pushed in by the female face, and then protrudes after locking rotation, entering the slot portion vacated by the trailing edge. A rotatable sleeve on the male connector body has a cam surface which, upon rotation of the sleeve in the unlocking direction, first retracts the locking pin, then engages the body of the connector to rotate the blades out of their locked position.

摘要： Two separate but identically shaped sections cooperate to form an electrical cord gripping device when they are brought together. The sections are insertable into recesses in cooperating halves of an electrical housing, by wedging or snapping them into place, and, when the housing is closed, the sections form a restricted opening and provide a clamp around an electrical cord passing through the opening and into the housing. The sections are readily removable from the housing, so that a single housing can be used with electrical cords of different sizes. Further, each section contains a diagonal rib, and, when the sections are brought together, their ribs criss-cross one another to grip the cord from opposite sides. The sections are also shaped to provide abutting surfaces which overlap each other to cam the sheathing of the electrical cord into the opening provided by the sections, and prevent crimping of the sheathing.

摘要： A motor speed control system in which the rotor output frequency is filtered to remove slot noise and applied to one or more frequency discriminator units (FDU's) which provide control signals to operate relays which control contactors in a conventional motor controller having rotor speed control resistances. Each FDU compares the input frequency with its own setpoint frequency and operates to change rotor circuit resistance if the input frequency differs from the setpoint by a predetermined amount. The rotor signal is separated into two rectangular wave signals, one of which triggers a monostable circuit. The Q and Q monostable outputs are compared with the input in logic circuit means which produces a relay driving output under specified signal time-overlap conditions. A feedback signal changes the duty cycle of the monostable when the output is provided, thereby establishing a frequency "dead band" bracketing the setpoint. A "low signal" circuit insures a predetermined state of the FDU under low level or zero frequency conditions. The output operation can be reversed for counter torque motor deceleration applications.
