    摘要: A magnetically actuated locking mechanism includes a male section and a female section releasably coupled to the male section. The male section includes a male body, a projection extending from one end of the male body and including a transverse bore, and a locking element movable between an unlocked position wherein the locking element is received within the bore and a locked position wherein the locking element is partly extracted from the bore. A first magnet is embedded in the locking element. The female section includes a female body having a guide cavity dimensioned to receive the projection, and a transverse locking recess dimensioned to lockingly receive a part of the locking element as extracted. A second magnet is embedded in the female body adjacent to the locking recess. The first and second magnets have opposed polarities and are operatively associated with each other to magnetically urge the locking element from the unlocked position to the locked position when the locking element is aligned with the locking recess after the projection is inserted into the guide cavity.

    摘要: A security tag holder is releasably clamped onto a garment. The holder includes first and second members coupled for relative pivotal movement about a pivot pin. The first member includes first clamping and locking regions at opposite sides of the pin, respectively. The second member includes second clamping and locking regions at opposite sides of the pin. The first locking region has a recess and a fixed magnet. The second locking region has a bore and a movable magnet movable between an unlocking position wherein the movable magnet is received in the bore and a locking position wherein the movable magnet is partly inserted into the recess and attracted to the fixed magnet. When the first and second members are urged against each other to clamp the garment, the movable magnet is moved from its unlocking to locking position to lock the first and second members against relative pivotal movement.

    摘要: An apparatus with a two-way hidden latch. A main body comprises a magnet disposed under a retainer, which fixes the two-way latch disposed in a cover portion. The cover portion can be placed on the main body with a first or second surface facing downward. The cover portion comprises a first and second opening and a two-way latch is disposed near the two openings. When the cover portion is open, the two-way latch is fixed at an original position and hidden in the cover portion. When the cover portion covers the main body with the first surface facing downward, the two-way latch is drawn by the magnet to a first position, engaging the retainer. Moreover, when the cover portion covers the main body with the second surface facing downward, the two-way latch is drawn by the magnet to a second position, engaging the retainer.

The device includes a latch member (17) which is moveable between a latching position and a non-latching position. The latch member (17) when in the latching position is engaged with a strike (42). A biasing element (23) biases the latch member (17) into one of the latching and non-latching positions. A magnetic element (43) is provided for moving the latch member (17) into the other of the latching and non-latching positions. In one form the magnetic element (43) is associated with the strike (42) and a magnet element (33) is associated with the latch member (17). The magnets are preferably permanent magnets (33 and 43). A user accessible slider (26) coupled by a coupler (34, 35) to magnet slider (31) enables the magnet element (33) to be temporarily moved away from the magnetic element (43) to enable the latch member (17) to retract from the strike (42).

    摘要: A latching device (1) particularly for installation such as swimming pool gates may have an automatic magnetic latch with a child resistant device to control access. The child resistant device may include an operating handle (10) at an elevated location to be out of the reach of the child and an alternative operating device (11) is provided at a lower location with child resistance provided typically by a push button arrangement (12) acting through a cam and cam follower to raise a latching arm (3) against the biasing to the latching position. A simple pronged key (16) for a pushing action can be provided, but another aspect consists in a mechanically actuatable key pad (20) which can readily be operated by an adult even in a wheelchair, but which is resistant to child actuation. For example, a selected two of eight buttons may be required to be depressed to permit the key to actuate the push button.

    摘要: A magnetic fastener is provided with a female member having a slide plate which engages with a recess portion of a projection formed in a cooperating male member. The projection is held in engagement with the slide plate via a permanent magnet formed in the projection. The female member has first and second plate members sandwiching the slide plate. The first and second plate members are held together by deforming the plate members or by welding. The first and second plate members and the slide plate each have an opening, the slide plate having a larger opening. The projection is inserted into the opening upon which one edge of the slide plate formed by the opening engages the recess portion and held thereto via the magnetic attraction. The male member can only be disengaged from the female member by pushing or pulling its engaged edge away from the projection.

    摘要: This latch and lock means includes a magnetized bolt and a strike in which at least a part thereof is either magnetized and of opposite polarity from the bolt or is of material magnetically attractable to the bolt. The bolt is movable in a bolt housing of magnetically attractable material. It is moved by magnetic attraction to a door locking position within the strike member when it is aligned with the same by closing of the door and is yieldingly held there by magnetic attraction. In addition pawl means is provided to positively secure the bolt against retraction by picking methods using thin instruments inserted between the edge of the door and the jamb. Extensible pull back members, normally held contracted relative to each other by spring means, will first release the pawl means and then retract the bolt in response to a key or knob actuated pull. Magnetic attraction between the bolt and bolt housing will hold the bolt retracted when the door is open.
