    摘要: A closure seal for doors, hatches and the like comprising a pneumatically inflatable sealing element of generally known configuration housed in a specially constructed channel-shaped retainer. The sealing element comprises a flat, relatively stiff base portion of predetermined width and a flexible portion comprising spaced apart side walls, joined with the base, and an outer wall joining with the side walls to form a hollow expandable section. The base forms shoulders where it joins with the side walls. A retaining channel, formed of sheet metal and of generally U-shaped cross section, receives the sealing element and is formed with longitudinally spaced apart, opposed, inwardly projecting elements forming longitudinally spaced apart constrictions of slightly less width than the base of the sealing element. The sealing element is inserted in the retaining channel, with the base of the element being forced through the constrictions, and thereafter is retained in the channel by engagement of the shoulders of the base by the spaced apart projection pairs.

    摘要: A mobile partition wall includes several wall elements (1, 1') that are each suspended from a track (2) secured to the ceiling of a room. Each wall element is provided with coupling valves (30, 32) which pneumatically interconnect the wall elements to allow the continuous throughflow of compressed air. The compressed air actuates pneumatic stroke devices to press respective seal bars (8, 9) against the ceiling and the floor in order to achieve good noise insulation and stability of the wall elements. The terminal wall element (1') includes a laterally extendable sliding termination panel (70) that is connected to a pneumatic drive device for extending the termination panel from the wall element (1'). In this manner, any vertical gap remaining between the terminal wall element and a wall of the room can be simply close and sealed by the termination panel. Pneumatic valves are arranged to control the pressurization sequence of the pneumatic elements. An extension limit valve is actuated when the termination panel is extended against the room wall, and only then is the compressed air directed to the pneumatic stroke devices for extending the seal bars.

    摘要: A mobile partition wall includes a plurality of adjoining wall elements 1. In order to prop and stabilize each wall element 1 between the ceiling and the floor and to provide noise insulation, each wall element includes an upper seal bar 8 and a lower seal bar 9. The seal bars 8, 9 cooperate with a pneumatic stroke or force device 20 via a linkage 16, 16'. The stroke device 20 preferably includes a pneumatic bellows. A pneumatic coupling is arranged on each of the two narrow vertical edges of each wall element 1. When adjacent wall elements are pushed against one another, the respective adjacent couplings engage or couple with one another, whereby a non-return or poppet-type valve is opened to allow the flow of pressurized air. The pressurized air actuates the stroke device 20, which extends the seal bars 8, 9 outwardly to press against the upper support track and the floor.

    摘要: A sealing apparatus for a vehicle closure, such as a door, includes a vacuum system for deflating the vehicle weatherstrips or sealing members. A plurality of deflatable sealing members may be connected to a single vacuum source. The system includes a sensor/actuator for detecting motion of the individual vehicle closures and a flow control circuit including valve arrangements for selectively connecting a particular sealing member to the vacuum source. In response to detected closing motion of a particular closure, the sealing member associated with that closure is deflated to allow the closure to close and latch with relatively low effort. Once closed, the sealing member is vented to atmosphere and reexpands by resilient memory to full cross-section thereby providing a relatively tight interference seal. The closure motion sensor/actuator includes a flexible strip having a series of aligned, closely spaced apertures and a cooperating pawl and actuator lever for operating the valves.

The seal is formed by welding a loop of rigid tubular material to the perimeter of the entry of a pressure chamber, conforming to the shape of the parameter. A side wall of this tubing is machined off to produce a continuous slot and a "C"-shaped channel running along the perimeter of the entry. Tubular gasket material is positioned in this "C"-shaped channel to extend partially out of the slot to seal against the door of the pressure chamber. A large diameter gasket may be used, and the interior of the gasket may be pressurized by a vent channel connected with the interior of the pressure chamber.

    摘要: A deflatable sealing member forms a weatherstip to seal a closure opening. The sealing member includes an operative tubular section designed to provide tight interference engagement between the closure and vehicle body when vented to atmosphere and expanded by built-in resilient memory. A bellows pump is connected to the sealing member through a flow control circuit. The bellows pump serves to deflate the sealing member during closing of the closure. The bellows pump is adpated for convenient mounting in a cavity in the closure or vehicle body spaced from the closure hinge area. A flexible cable connects the bellows pump to the closure or vehicle body to provide the necessary actuation for operation of the bellows pump in response to the swinging movement of the closure. As the closure closes, a bleed port at the pump vents the sealing member to ambient pressure, and the sealing member expands by resilient memory to its full cross section so as to provide a tight seal.

    摘要: A retaining and sealing strip made of plastics or rubber, is supported in a channel running along the top of the window frame carried by a conventional vehicle door. The strip defines a hollow chamber running alongside the top of the window opening which, in conjunction with a lip, forms a channel in which is located the upper edge of the window glass. A wall of the chamber is pressed into sealing engagement with window glass by inflation of the hollow chamber. The upper part of the strip defines further hollow chambers, one having a relatively stiff wall hinged by a narrow neck. When this chamber is inflated, the top of the door is retained closed because any attempt at opening it results in interference between a shoulder carried by the stiff wall and a ridge formed on a relatively hard plastics or rubber retaining profile which is rivetted or stuck to the adjacent body part. When the two chambers are at least partially evacuated, the stiff wall hinges to provide clearance for opening of the door.
