    摘要: The invention is generally related to the estimation of position and orientation of an object with respect to a local or a global coordinate system using reflected light sources. A typical application of the method and apparatus includes estimation and tracking of the position of a mobile autonomous robot. Other applications include estimation and tracking of an object for position-aware, ubiquitous devices. Additional applications include tracking of the positions of people or pets in an indoor environment. The methods and apparatus comprise one or more optical emitters, one or more optical sensors, signal processing circuitry, and signal processing methods to determine the position and orientation of at least one of the optical sensors based at least in part on the detection of the signal of one or more emitted light sources reflected from a surface.

The three different packages are combined to form the optical proximity sensor, where the first package is a light emitter package, the second package is a light detector package, and the third package is an integrated circuit package. First and second infrared light pass components are molded or casted atop the light emitter package and the light detector package after they have been mounted atop the integrated circuit package. An infrared light cut component is then molded or casted between and over portions of the light emitter package and the light detector package.

    摘要: A method and system for inspecting parts utilizing triangulation are provided. The system includes a part support subsystem including a fixture for supporting a part to be inspected and a head apparatus. The head apparatus includes at least one radiation source for directing a plane of radiation at the part so that the part occludes the plane of radiation to create unobstructed planar portions of the plane of radiation wherein each of the unobstructed planar portions of the plane of radiation contains an amount of radiation which is representative of a respective geometric dimension of the part. The head apparatus also includes at least one receiver module for measuring the amount of radiation present in each of the unobstructed planar portions and a triangulation-based sensor to illuminate the part with a beam of electromagnetic energy to obtain a reflected beam of electromagnetic energy and to sense at least one portion of the reflected beam of electromagnetic energy. The system further includes a movable stage subsystem coupled to the head apparatus for translating the head apparatus relative to the part so that the plane of radiation and the beam of electromagnetic energy linearly scan the part supported by the fixture and a controller for generating control signals to control linear movement of the stage subsystem during the linear scan.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a method for saving power consumption of a position sensitive detector used in a smart bathroom product. An infrared light emitting device included in the position sensitive detector has infrared light emitting modes of at least two strengths. The position sensitive detector determines the emitting strength to be adopted by the infrared light emitting device at the time of next infrared light emission based on the comparison between the strength of the reflected infrared signal received by the infrared light receiving device and a preset value set in the position sensitive detector. Thus, by switching between different emitting strength modes, the infrared light emitting device is made to use an emitting mode with a weak strength in the case that no one is using the position sensitive detector, thereby effectively decreasing the power consumption of the position sensitive detector in its operation.
