Abstract: A method is provided for generating ink data including stroke objects. The method includes generally four steps. The first step receives device-dependent user-input data including either one of pen event data of Type 1, which includes indicator position data and indicator pressure data, or pen event data of Type 2, which includes indicator position data but does not include indicator pressure data. The second step determines whether the pen event data is Type 1 or Type 2. The third step derives one or both of radius data for defining a width of the stroke object and transparency data for defining a transparency of the stroke object, based on the pen event data of Type 1 or Type 2. The fourth step outputs the stroke object including said one or both of radius data and transparency data as device-independent common attribute value(s) of each of multiple points of the stroke object.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for processing vehicle-related data received from one or more smart tracker devices connected to one or more vehicles. The smart tracker devices can be connected to one or more sensors that can provide an output according to operating conditions of the vehicles. Data from the sensors can be transmitted from the smart tracker devices to a server device and/or a portable computing device for further processing. The portable computing device can include an application for visualizing the data in three dimensions. The application can include an interface that can provide a three-dimensional visualization of a track on which a vehicle is traveling, and map the data to a shape of the track in order to provide an indication of how the data changed as the vehicle traveled along the track.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present technology enable messages including one or more custom characters (and potentially also one or more standard characters) to be communicated between client devices, wherein each of the custom characters includes at least one tag word that enables a meaning of the custom character to be better understood, and wherein such tag words can be translated from one language to another to enable users that understand different languages to better be able to communicate with one another using the custom characters. Beneficially, embodiments described herein overcome many of the drawbacks associated with electronic messages being limited to including only standard characters, such as standard emoji. Embodiments described herein also enable users that speak different languages to more easily and readily communicate with one another using a messaging application.

Abstract: Examples described herein generally relate to drawing digital ink on a display of a computer device. The computer device may render a frame via a graphics queue of a graphics processing unit (GPU). The computer device may fetch updated digital ink input from an input buffer at a designated time before scanning at least a portion of the frame including the digital ink. The computer device may draw the digital ink on the rendered frame via a priority queue of the GPU based on the updated digital ink input prior to displaying at least a portion of the frame including the digital ink. The priority queue may provide commands to dispatch a compute shader of the GPU to draw the digital ink.

Abstract: A method for displaying a matrix of correlations or other statistical measures of co-movement associated with a plurality of financial instruments, portfolios, indices, or asset classes is disclosed. The method includes: converting the matrix of correlations or other co-movement measures into a probability transition matrix; defining a corresponding abstract distance measurement between any two of the plurality of financial instruments, portfolios, indices, or asset classes based on the probability transition matrix; assigning coordinates in a Euclidean space to each of the plurality of financial instruments, portfolios, indices, or asset classes, wherein a Euclidean distance between any two financial instruments, portfolios, indices, or asset classes in the Euclidean space corresponds to the corresponding abstract distance measurement; and displaying on a display device the plurality of financial instruments, portfolios, indices, or asset classes based on more significant dimensions of the Euclidean space.

Abstract: Enhanced vectorization of raster images is described. An image vectorization module converts a raster image with bitmapped data to a vector image with vector elements based on mathematical formulas. In some embodiments, spatially-localized control of a vectorization operation is provided to a user. First, the user can adjust an intensity of a denoising operation differently at different areas of the raster image. Second, the user can adjust an automated segmentation by causing one segment to be split into two segments along a zone marked with an indicator tool, such as a brush. Third, the user can adjust an automated segmentation by causing two segments to be merged into a combined segment. The computation of the vector elements is based on the adjusted segmentation. In other embodiments, semantic information gleaned from the raster image is incorporated into the vector image to facilitate manipulation, such as joint selection of multiple vector elements.
