Abstract: Colored three-dimensional digital model generation techniques and systems are described. In one example, scanning techniques are employed by a scanning system that scans a physical object while disposed within packaging to form a three-dimension digital model. A model coloring system is employed to color the three-dimensional digital model. A two-dimensional digital image is employed that captures the same or similar physical object. In one example, features of the model are matched to the image. This is then used to align a viewing perspective with respect to the model with a viewing perspective of the object within the digital image, e.g., to find which “view” of the model corresponds with the image. The color is then applied from the digital image to the model, e.g., from pixels of the image to corresponding points in the model.

Abstract: A system includes a three-dimensional (3D) scanner that captures a 3D point cloud corresponding to one or more objects in a surrounding environment. The system further includes a camera that captures a control image by capturing a plurality of images of the surrounding environment, and an auxiliary camera configured to capture an ultrawide-angle image of the surrounding environment. One or more processors of the system colorize the 3D point cloud using the ultrawide-angle image by mapping the ultrawide-angle image to the 3D point cloud. The system performs a limited system calibration before colorizing each 3D point cloud, and a periodic full system calibration before/after a plurality of 3D point clouds are colorized.

Abstract: A method for identifying, locating and tracking a calibrating conduit within a 3D ultrasound point cloud includes the following steps: firstly rapidly modeling the conduit through an ultrasound map, then framing an approximate range of the conduit after human-computer interaction in a display interface, and tracking the approximate range accurately. The method has advantages of modeling and locating the conduit based on pure ultrasound, faster and more accurate modeling, more accurate positioning of the conduit by framing, reducing inaccurate positioning caused by other factors, and human-machine interaction for positioning the conduit with ready access to ensure accuracy and reliability. Further, this conduit localization algorithm reduces overall process time and provides a clearer and more real-time image of the conduit in a target environment, eliminating need for an overly demanding target environment and fixed reference points introduced by the conduit, while being more accurate than relying solely on ultrasound modeling.

Abstract: A method is provided for selecting a transparency setting and color values of pixels in a virtual image. The virtual image can be formed by combining reference images taken at different angles to produce the virtual image that views an object at a new, uncaptured angle. The method includes determining for each pixel of the virtual image, what information it carries from the reference view images. The information of the pixel is used to define a pixel category, and the category is used to select, based on logical conditions, what information will be displayed by the pixel and to set the color of the pixels.

Abstract: A method for training a real-time, modeling for animating an avatar for a subject is provided. The method includes collecting multiple images of a subject. The method also includes selecting a plurality of vertex positions in a guide mesh, indicative of a volumetric primitive enveloping the subject, determining a geometric attribute for the volumetric primitive including a position, a rotation, and a scale factor of the volumetric primitive, determining a payload attribute for each of the volumetric primitive, the payload attribute including a color value and an opacity value for each voxel in a voxel grid defining the volumetric primitive, determining a loss factor for each point in the volumetric primitive based on the geometric attribute, the payload attribute and a ground truth value, and updating a three-dimensional model for the subject. A system and a non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing instructions to perform the above method are also provided.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide techniques for dynamic synthetic video chat agent replacement. A human host receives a request for a video chat initiated by a user. An image for a synthetic host including a representation of an individual is retrieved. The image of the synthetic host is selected based on information about the user. Aspects of the individual included in the image are extracted using one or more processors. A video performance by the human host responding to the statement or query by the user is captured. A synthetic host performance is created in which the video performance of the human host is dynamically replaced by the individual that was extracted so that the synthetic host performance responds to the user statement or query. The synthetic host performance is rendered to the user and supplemented with additional synthetic host performances as the video chat continues.

In some embodiments, the method includes allowing operators to associate audio comments with a scan image of an object. In some embodiments, the method also includes highlighting a plurality of voxels, which are indicative of at least one potential threat item, in a mask having a plurality of variable color intensities, where the intensities may be varied based on the potential threat items.
