摘要: The method of synchronising the analogue display (41) of a timepiece (40), including an electronic time base (64), is achieved using proximity sensors (60, 62) respectively associated with wheels (46, 48) each having an aperture (54, 56) for defining the angular position of the latter. Determination of the angular position of a wheel requires an angular distance of around 60° to 90° to be travelled with this type of proximity sensor. Dependency of the measurement results upon the temperature generates a problem of precision in determining the angular position of the wheels, in particular a wheel secured to the hour indicator, given that an angle of 60° to 90° corresponds to a time interval of 2 to 3 hours. In order to ensure a measurement in a relatively short time interval where the ambient temperature is substantially constant and thus has no influence on the measurement, the invention provides that, in a analogue display synchronisation mode at least one indicator is driven in an accelerated advance mode so that the aperture provided in the corresponding wheel quickly passes opposite the proximity sensor associated with that wheel.

摘要: The timepiece has a gear housing containing a horometric movement and a minute hand gear 12 operatively connected to the movement. Also, the timepiece comprises a drive gear 2 operatively connected to the movement, a cylinder gear 4 engaging the drive gear 2 by crown teeth 24 disposed on both gears 2 and 4, a leaf spring 6 biasing the cylinder gear 4 against the drive gear 2, a rod 8 and a sliding switch 10 pivotally disposed on the rod 8. The sliding switch 10 has a switch tooth 68 that removably engages the cylinder gear 4, forcing the crown teeth 24 to slide into an adjacent position which independently moves an hour hand 54. Other embodiments employ a spindle switch 78 and a pop-up switch 88.

摘要: A method for resetting a real-time clock of a pen-based computer system characterized by the steps of: displaying an image of an analog clock face with an hour hand and a minute hand on the screen of a pen-based computer system; determining whether a clock-setting stroke has been made with a stylus upon the image of the analog clock face; resetting the real-time clock to correspond to the clock-setting stroke; and moving at least one of the hour hand and the minute hand in response to the clock-setting stroke. An apparatus for resetting a real-time clock of a pen-based computer system is characterized by: a digital processor; a real-time clock coupled to the digital processor; a screen assembly coupled to the digital processor; a display mechanism for displaying an image of an analog clock on the screen assembly; a detection mechanism for detecting a clock-resetting stroke on the image of the analog clock by a stylus; and a resetting mechanism for resetting the real-time clock in response to the clock-resetting stroke.

摘要: A GPS-based frequency/time source of the present invention provides an accurate, traceable low cost reference. In particular, the GPS-based frequency/time source includes a GPS receiver, a variable frequency oscillator and a micro processor. The GPS receiver receives and produces as output signals GPS information, whereas the variable frequency oscillator has a frequency control input terminal and produces an output frequency signal, and is coupled to the GPS receiver. The micro processor is coupled to receive the output signals produced by the GPS receiver and produces an error signal indicative of a difference in frequency between GPS synchronized frequency and the output frequency signal of the variable frequency oscillator. Circuitry is responsive to the error signal to produce an electronic frequency control signal, which is applied to the frequency control input of the variable frequency oscillator so as to cause the difference in frequency to be reduced. In this manner, a low cost oscillator may be employed in such a way as to produce a very accurate output frequency signal.

摘要: In a timepiece driven by a vibrator, a spring having a spring constant much lower than that of the vibrator is coupled to the vibrator. The effective length of the spring is adjustable by varying the point of contact between a regulating mechanism and the spring. Adjustment of the vibration frequency can be effected from the exterior of the timepiece and can be carried out stepwise.
