摘要： A mattress covering in the form of a fitted mattress pad or fitted sheet has a top portion, an inelastic side skirt extending perpendicularly from the top portion, an elastic underskirt extending from the side skirt and a separate elastic strand attached to the elastic skirt at its open outer periphery. The top portion is dimensioned to fit a standard size mattress and the side skirt and underskirt are dimensioned to fit a range of mattress heights. The side skirt can be made of the same quilted or sheet material as the top portion for attractive appearance, or it can be made of other material, such as a single layer of an inelastic nonwoven, inexpensive sheet, to minimize cost. The elastic underskirt can be made of three layer material having a pair of inelastic outer layers gathered by and bonded to an elastic inner layer, or elastic thread stitched or woven into an inelastic fabric layer.

摘要： A cushion protection system for incontinent individuals is disclosed, including a moisture impervious flexible base sheet. The sheet includes a raised panel extending about the side edges and projecting above a top seating surface thereof such that moisture is not permitted to seep through the sheet. Attachment provisions allow securement of the base sheet to a seating device. A moisture absorbent pad is provided with fasteners that will facilitate secure yet releasable attachment of the pad to the flexible base sheet. The pad may be provided of washable, reusable material, or may be supplied as disposable units, formed of absorbent material.

摘要： A therapeutic mattress cover includes overlying first and second fabric sheets of rectangular shape. Laterally spaced rows of first stitching interconnect the sheets throughout their width. A hollow rectangular skirt at its top edge overlies the perimeter of the sheets and depends therefrom. A second peripheral stitching connects the top edge of the sheet with the corresponding two ends and one side of the sheets defining with the first stitching a plurality of transverse tubes with the second stitches closing one end of the tubes. A filler pad of a foam plastic resilient material is nested within each tube, and third stitching connects the remaining side of the skirt to the remaining side of the sheets closing the other end of the tube. The method of making a therapeutic mattress cover comprises stacking first, second and third fabric sheets and applying a plurality of laterally spaced rows of first stitching interconnecting the sheets throughout their width. Superimposing a hollow continuous skirt to overlie and surround the perimeter of the sheets and applying second continuous peripheral stitching connecting the top edge of the skirt to corresponding two ends and one side of the sheets defining with the first stitching a first set of transverse tubes along the length of the first and second sheets and a second set of transverse tubes underlying the first set of tubes with the second stitching closing one end of the tubes. Inserting a filler pad of a foam plastic resilient material into each tube and applying third stitching connecting the remaining side of the skirt to the remaining side of the sheets.

The moisture proof top panel has a moisture proof layer and a soft fabric layer overlying the moisture proof layer. The two layers are joined together to form an integrated structure defining the top panel. Releasable fasteners connect the top and bottom panels and are arranged to be accessible so the top panel can be removed and replaced without disturbing either the bottom panel or the mattress.

A cushionlike item according to the present invention has a series of continuously arranged bag portions containing a large number of stuffing elements of synthetic resin. The pad has on its front surface a plurality of projections that can apply pressure or spot therapy to a user's body. The projections are secured to the pad by strings arranged zig-zag between the front and back surfaces of the pad. Upon pulling of the strings, the cushion can be tightened, causing the projections to stand firmly on the front surface.

摘要： A disposable infant seat liner in accordance with the present invention includes an upper section, a middle section and a lower section. Plural shoulder strap receiving slotways are provided in the upper section. These slotways may be accessible from side edges of the infant seat liner. In one embodiment, three shoulder strap receiving positions are provided at each side of the upper section to accommodate shoulder straps of various infant seat designs. First and second leg or crotch strap receiving slotways are also provided in a lower section of the infant seat liner. In one specific embodiment, a Y-shaped leg strap receiving slotway is positioned below an upwardly facing U-shaped slotway. In another embodiment, the lower slotway is T-shaped. Arched side cuts may also be provided in the central section of the infant seat liner to accommodate waist straps and to facilitate fitting of the infant seat liner to an infant car seat. The slotways, cuts and slits may be selectively openable with perforations being provided for this purpose. In this latter case, a user need only open those perforations required to fit the infant seat liner to the user's particular infant seat.
