摘要: Methods and systems are provided for reducing degradation and issues related to noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) for a canister purge valve. In one example, a method may include sequentially increasing a duty cycle of a canister purge valve over a course of a purging operation to purge fuel vapors stored in a fuel vapor canister to an intake of an engine, while timing opening and closing events of the canister purge valve to coincide with pressure differences lower than a threshold in terms of pressure oscillations across the canister purge valve. In this way, purging of the canister may be efficient while additionally reducing degradation and NVH issues related to the CPV.

摘要: A vehicular propulsion system, a vehicular fuel system and a method of operating an internal combustion engine. A separation unit that makes up a part of the fuel system includes one or more adsorbent-based chambers such that the separation unit may selectively receive and separate at least a portion of onboard fuel into octane-enhanced and cetane-enhanced fuel components. A supply tank includes three compartments where the first contains the onboard fuel, the second receives a vaporized adsorbate from the separation unit and condenses at least a part of it into one of an octane-rich fuel component or a cetane-rich fuel component, while the third may either store the condensed and enriched fuel component or help condense more of the vaporized adsorbate. The condensing takes place through heat exchange between the onboard fuel and the vaporized adsorbate that are present within the various compartments of the supply tank. A controller may be used to determine a particular operational condition of the internal combustion engine such that the onboard fuel can be sent to one or more combustion chambers within the internal combustion engine without first passing through the separation unit, or instead to the separation unit in situations where the internal combustion engine may require an octane-rich or cetane-rich mixture.

The flow guide device includes a flow guide chamber having an inlet, a plurality of sidewalls, and an outlet, and a plurality of directional blades formed within the flow guide chamber. The plurality of directional blades direct a fluid flow through the flow guide chamber and the hollow member toward the aspirate opening of the fuel nozzle.

In one example, a method may include purging the fuel vapor canister by synchronizing a timing of opening and closing events of the canister purge valve to correspond with instances where a pressure difference across the canister purge valve is lower as compared to higher in terms of pressure oscillations across the canister purge valve during the purging. In this way, higher loads and stress on the canister purge valve may be avoided, thus reducing degradation and NVH issues.
