Abstract: A method of monitoring operation of a shredder or health of a shredder component includes: setting a profile of a selected parameter of the shredder, wherein the profile includes a nominal value, a tolerance of the nominal value, and a predetermined range of the selected parameter outside the tolerance; obtaining an actual value of the selected parameter; comparing the actual value with the profile of the selected parameter; determining the operational condition of the shredder based on a comparison between the actual value and the profile of the selected parameter. The profile is obtained based on experimental data, statistics, or machine learning.

Abstract: An alignment tool for positioning an end plate on a core shaft of a stator core includes a central shaft disposed about a central axis and an outer body. The central shaft has a proximal end and extends in an axial direction therefrom to a free distal end. The outer body includes a base portion, a support portion and a push portion. The base portion is coupled to the proximal end of the central shaft. Abstract: A method of forming a vehicle panel includes deforming a sheet metal workpiece between stamping tools to form a first and second edges that converge at a corner of the workpiece's main surface. The first edge is defined by a junction of the main surface and a first flange. The second edge is defined the main surface and a second flange. Forming the first and second edges includes deforming the workpiece so that the second flange has a first region bent to a first angle relative to the main surface and an unwinding region bent to an angle that unwinds from the first region as the second flange approaches the corner. The method includes deforming the workpiece between a second set of stamping tools that deform the first flange and the unwinding region of the second flange until the first and second flanges are bent greater than 90°.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a battery electrode includes casting a solid battery electrode from a slurry including electrode particles, a binder, and a solvent, wherein residual solvent remains after the casting and the binder remains at least partially elastic. The solid battery electrode then undergoes flash-freezing such that the residual solvent forms dendritic ice having a pattern, and then the dendritic ice is removed from the solid battery electrode, thereby rearranging the electrode particles and the binder into a microstructure that represents a geometric negative of the pattern of the dendritic ice.
