    摘要: The invention describes an electrically controllable mono-tube shock absorber wherein the damping of the shock absorber is controlled by a solenoid valve. The valve includes a poppet valve which is mechanically independent of an electrically actuated armature. A second valve is also disclosed which includes a poppet valve having a cylindrical wall which prevents the poppet valve from contacting the armature. A third valve, carried by the shock absorber piston includes two axially extending passages one of which cooperates with a poppet valve to increase fluid flow thereacross to reduce damping. Each valve can be actuated in accordance with the direction (sign) of a derived velocity signal.

The sliding piston is positioned by an actuator having reciprocating movement translated through a rotating sleeve with a first pin engaging a helical slot for axial motion of the piston and a second pin engaging an alignment slot for maintaining axial alignment of the piston.

    摘要: An interband prediction method for image data decomposition and reconstruction in which a coder decomposes image data using pyramid subband image data decomposition. The resulting DC subband is further decomposed and is used to generate first predictors for various allowed geometries. The method then generates a predictor set for each pixel in the decomposed image in which the predictors for each pixel are ranked. The method further generates a message identifying the predictor in each predictor set to be used in the reconstruction of the data. In the reconstruction of the image data, the DC subband image data is used to generate a second predictor set identical to the first predictor list. The desired predictor for each pixel identified by the messages is used in conjunction with the DC subband image data to generate estimated next-level DC subband image data. This process is repeated until the estimated next-level DC subband image data is a predicted estimate of the original image data.

The interlocking means comprises a male member disposed on one of the bottom and top portions and a passage disposed on the other of the bottom and top portions for slidably receiving the male member between an unlocked and locked position in response to rotation of the top and bottom jacket portions, wherein the passage lockably receives the male member and attaches the top and bottom portions together in the locked position and wherein the male member does not lockably engage the passage in the unlocked position. The protective jacket also has a handle assembly for transporting the jacket and bottle. The handle assembly has top and bottom handle portions attached to the top and bottom portions of the jacket respectively, such that the top and bottom handle portions operatively engage each other only when the interlocking means is in the locked position.

    摘要: An aircraft subsystem provides the aircraft with all its electrical and conditioned air requirements without requiring the extraction of either shaft power and/or pressurized air from the aircraft's main engines. At the core of this subsystem are two rotating assemblies journaled on non-oil lubricated bearings to a housing. One assembly includes a cooling turbine, a starter/generator, a core compressor, and a high pressure stage of a two stage axial turbine, all mounted on a single shaft. A combustor is disposed between the core compressor and the turbine. The other assembly is comprised of the low pressure stage of the axial turbine coupled to a load compressor via a second shaft. The high pressure turbine stage and cooling turbine are sized to drive the core compressor and starter/generator which provides all the aircraft's electrical needs both on the ground and inflight. The low pressure turbine stage drives the load compressor, which produces pressurized air that is conditioned through heat exchange components and then expanded and cooled across the cooling turbine before being delivered to the aircraft cabin.
