摘要: According to one embodiment, a system comprises a container and an oxygen sorbing closure operable to close an opening of the container. The closure comprises an oxygen sorption layer, an oxygen permeable layer, and a removable oxygen impermeable layer. When the oxygen impermeable layer is removed, the oxygen sorbing closure is operable to sorb oxygen molecules from a headspace of the container.

A dry blend is added that includes one or more hydrocolloids selected from the group consisting of: gellan gum, guar gum, locust bean gum, and xanthan gum. The dry blend further includes one or more salts. The non-dairy, nut-based milk is substantially free of soy or soy-derived ingredients.

The system heats the mixture and directs it toward an inlet to be delivered into a vacuum chamber. The vacuum chamber applies a negative vacuum pressure to the mixture to substantially remove the added gas. The resulting milk is extracted from the vacuum chamber.
