    摘要: A processor duplexing method is applied to a 3G mobile communication system switching operation without involving application software. In this method, Real-Time operating system (RTOS) detects that a duplexing operation is being performed. While the duplexing switching operation is being performed, the RTOS and a PCI controlling unit dump a memory of an active board to a standby board, thereby synchronizing a memory between the active board and the standby board. Once the duplexing switching operation is complete, the standby board sequentially starts operation of the active board. In this method, duplexing of a processor level is performed without using application software in the RTOS. Instead, duplexing is a performed by a substructure (hardware and OS). As a result the burden of having the application software grow larger and more complicated is significantly reduced.

Signals transmitted from a serving base station and a neighboring station may be scanned at a periodic interval, the power of the transmitted signals may be measured, and the power of the transmitted signals from the serving base station is compared to a critical power. A movement discriminator denoting whether the mobile station lies in a cell of the serving station may be formed based on the power of the transmitted signals when the signal power of the serving base station is less than the critical power. The movement discriminator may be stored accumulatively, and performance of handover may be decided based on the discriminators stored accumulatively.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a voice mail system (VMS), and more particularly, to a system and method for unifying multiple connection ports of a voice mail system. A system according to the present invention includes an external input/output controller (EIOC) provided between a VMS having a plurality of boards that perform the same function and a plurality of external servers. The EIOC is adapted to provide an unified network connection point between the plurality of boards and the plurality of external servers by routing a message transferred from any one of the plurality of boards to any one of the external servers. The EIOC is also configured to route a message transferred from any one of the plurality of external servers to a corresponding board of the VMS. The stability of such a system is increased by making external servers (IP networks) regard the VMS as a single network connection point. In addition, since the EIOC allows external servers to be connected to the VMS, and performs a routing function, it can detect an intrusion of an inaccessible external server, and maintain the security for the VMS.

    摘要: An apparatus and method controls power supplied from a powered HUB to a user terminal includes based on a vibration signal transmitted from the terminal. Initially, a connection between the HUB and terminal is determined to exist if at least one vibration signal is received from the terminal. Then, a determination is made as to when the signal is received. If received during a first check period, power is supplied from the HUB to the terminal. If received during a second check period, power continues to be supplied to the terminal. Power is cut-off when a number of vibration signals or vibration-signal events does not equal a predetermined number and the second check period transitions into the first check period. By taking these steps, the need to use specialized modules and communications protocols is eliminated, thereby reducing costs and system complexity.
