    摘要： A charge door assembly for automated operation of a baler utilizes a truncated wedge-shaped door pivotally mounted to the baler at a point beneath the lowest point of travel of a conventional movable platen. The door pivots outwardly to admit a charge of material onto the platen from a feed apparatus. Intermeshing teeth are provided along the door assembly fact to separate any material extending outwardly of the door as the door closes. Sufficient space is provided between the door and the passageway therefor to allow material stringing from the teeth to be attenuated and subsequently entrained by the action of the baler.

The batt thickness is maintained by correlating the same with the rate of feed of seed cotton to the system. Controls are provided to assure that the batt remains at optimum thickness, and such optimum thickness is assured by sensing the rate of input of seed cotton to the system.

    摘要： An improved system for removing modules of seed cotton either from a pallet, a transport vehicle, or, with slight modifications, from the ground when incorporated as a part of a transport vehicle. The apparatus comprises a conveyor with a discharge end and a receiving end. At the receiving end there is provided a cotton module engaging and lifting mechanism comprising a plurality of driven, toothed, disc-like lifting members, a multiplicity of the same being mounted in a framework for vertical reciprocation so that upon engaging an oncoming mass of seed cotton the entire unit moves downwardly, thus to get under and lift the seed cotton onto the conveyor. The cotton is fed to a disperser unit which breaks it down into individual locks, or at least groups of locks small enough to be fed to a gin.

    摘要： An automated baling press especially adapted for baling fibrous materials and enclosing it in a two part carton such as a kraft board box. The apparatus includes automatic controls to cause the press to move through its several motions such as movement to a position whereby the parts of the carton may be placed in the press box, the charging motion, the compaction stroke, and the holding position for placing ties or other securing means about the bale. The press includes means automatically responsive upon downward movement of the platen to hold the lower part of the carton on the platen for downward travel therewith. Means is provided to hold the upper part of the carton in the box pending closing of the press box doors. An automatic bale ejection means tilts the wrapped bale out the open door upon downward movement of the platen after the bale is tied out.
