Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for user-plane switching of traffic for dual connectivity. In some example embodiments, there is provided a method. The method may include receiving, at a serving gateway, an indication to persist a first tunnel identifier located at a master base station, while the serving gateway sends, towards a second tunnel identifier located at a secondary node, user plane traffic for a user equipment in dual connectivity with the master base station and the secondary node; and switching, at the serving gateway, the user plane traffic between the second tunnel identifier and the first tunnel identifier, when the serving gateway receives, via a user plane, an error indication and/or a switch indication. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.

Abstract: This document discloses a solution for using low-density parity check codes in connection with a retransmission scheme in a wireless network. According to an aspect a method comprises: encoding, by a first apparatus, a data bit set by using a first parity check matrix in a low-density parity check encoder, thus providing a first parity bit set; causing, by the first apparatus, transmission of the data bit set and at least some parity bits of the first parity bit set to a second apparatus in a message; determining, by the first apparatus, that the second apparatus was not capable of decoding the data bit set; modifying, by the first apparatus, the first parity check matrix by using an overlapping matrix such that overlapping elements of the first parity check matrix and the overlapping matrix are combined, thus acquiring a second parity check matrix; encoding, by the first apparatus, the data bit set by using the second parity check matrix in the low-density parity check encoder, thus providing a second parity bit set; and causing transmission of at least some parity bits of the second parity bit set to the second apparatus.

Abstract: Disclosed in a mechanism for optimizing channel quality indicator feedback for code block group based transmissions, wherein a user equipment of a communication network receives an enhanced channel quality indicator configuration. Based on the enhanced channel quality indicator configuration, the user equipment performs measurements of channel state information reference resources with a plurality of code block groups comprising determining a highest data rate modulation and coding scheme index supported by the user equipment with an error probability that will not exceed a predetermined threshold for reception of at least one transport block from the communication network, and based on the performing, the user equipment sends, towards the communication network, information expressed with a channel quality index comprising an indication of the determined highest data rate modulation and coding scheme index for use with link adaption for improving spectral efficiency of radio resource allocations of at least one transport block with more than one code block group for at least one physical downlink shared channel transmission from the communication network, wherein the information expressed with the channel quality index comprises an enhanced channel quality indicator report that identifies a new enhanced channel quality indicator report table enumerating the highest data rate modulation and coding scheme index supported by the user equipment and an effective code rate that the communication network is directed to use for the at least one physical downlink shared channel transmission.
