摘要: Methods, systems, and computer program products for caching and reusing bearer channels for voice over packet sessions involving wireless entities are disclosed. According to one method, a setup request message is received for a voice over packet session involving a wireless entity. In response to the setup request message, a bearer channel is established using bearer channel setup signaling. When the first session is released, the bearer channel is cached for a predetermined time period. A second setup request message is received. The second setup request message involves the first and second nodes and a wireless entity. In response to the second setup request message, the cached bearer channel is re-used for the second session.

摘要: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer program products for oversubscription of wireless media gateway resources. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for oversubscription of wireless media gateway resources. The method includes defining at least one per-resource oversubscription factor for wireless media gateway resources required by at least one wireless network connection. The wireless media gateway resources are provisioned for the at least one wireless network connection using the at least one per-resource oversubscription factor. Allocating the wireless media gateway resources to the at least one wireless connection network includes oversubscribing the wireless media gateway resources by an amount based on the at least one per-resource oversubscription factor to increase utilization of the wireless media gateway resources by increasing the number of wireless network connections that the wireless media gateway is capable of serving.

摘要: Methods, systems, and computer program products for establishing transcoding free connections between UMA and UMTS call legs are disclosed. According to one method, a media gateway determines whether codec configurations used by UMA and UMTS legs of a call are compatible. In response to determining that the configurations are compatible, media gateway determines whether rate control is necessary to establish a transcoding free connection. In response to determining that rate control is necessary, the media gateway issues rate control requests on the UMA and UMTS legs as appropriate. The media gateway determines whether the rate control requests are successful. In response to determining that the requests are successful, the media gateway establishes a transcoding free connection between the UMA and the UMTS legs of the call.

摘要: Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer program products for notifying a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) entity of a fast switchover event. According to one method a first SIP entity having an active host and a standby host is provided. At the active host a SUBSCRIBE message is received from a second SIP entity for subscribing to a fast switchover notification service. The standby host is switched to an active mode. In response to switching the standby host to active mode, a NOTIFY message is sent to the second SIP entity for notifying the second SIP entity that the standby host is operating in active mode.

摘要: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for resource migration in a distributed telecommunication system is provided. Respective sets of performance parameters of a first plurality of nodes disposed in a first node group and a second plurality of nodes in a second node group are collected. Service capabilities of the first node group and the second node group are evaluated based on the sets of performance parameters. One node group of the first node group and the second node group is designated as a currently preferred node group in response to evaluation of the service capabilities. The steps of collecting, evaluating, and designating are repeated a plurality of times. The currently preferred node group is designated as an active preferred node group in the event that a sequence of evaluating service capabilities each results in the one node group being designated as the currently preferred node group.

摘要: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer program products for transporting ATM cells in a device having an Ethernet switching fabric. According to one method, at least one ingress ATM cell is received at an ATM network interface of a device having an Ethernet switching fabric. Next, the connection associated with which the ingress ATM cell is identified. The ATM cell is encapsulated in Ethernet frame addressed to a media processing resource associated with the connection. The Ethernet frame is forwarded to the media processing resource across an Ethernet switching fabric.

摘要: Methods and systems for providing lawful intercept of a media stream in a media gateway include establishing a call context between a first termination and a second termination and establishing a tap context with at least one tap termination, which refer to the first termination. The call context defines a call media stream between the first and second terminations associated with a call between first and second end users. The tap context defines at least one tap media stream from the first termination to the at least one tap termination. The tap media stream is a one-way media stream that carries either the mouth portion of the call media stream, the ear portion of the media stream, or a combination of the mouth and ear portions of the media stream from the first termination to the at least one tap termination. Multiple tap contexts can be created to support the lawful intercept of the call by multiple law enforcement agencies.

摘要: Methods and systems for controlling media stream handover in a media gateway includes establishing a call context between a first termination and a second termination in a media gateway. The first and second terminations are capable of bi-directional media stream communications associated with a call between first and second end users. In response to a handover event affecting the first termination, a third termination is added to the context. The third termination is initially capable of receive-only communications. The context is then modified such that the third termination becomes capable of bidirectional media stream communications and the first termination becomes capable of receive-only communications. The first termination is then removed from the context. The media stream handover may be performed using extensions to a media gateway control protocol and without using a conference bridge.
