    摘要: Improved excitation circuitry for a variable reluctance transducer is disclosed which includes a transformer having a primary winding and a secondary winding. Power circuitry coupled to the primary winding induces an AC excitation signal in the secondary winding which is coupled to the transducer. An error detection circuit compares a reference signal with the excitation signal and feeds back an error signal to the power circuitry to compensate for any differences therebetween. In such manner, a constant excitation signal is maintained for the transducer.

A gradual sloping surface from the inner margin of the raised cutting land provides strength compatible with downward chip flow to meet the internal substantially flat face of the insert. In a preferred embodiment a center island is provided extending to the top level of the raised cutting land which permits relatively lighter starting feeds and greater range of feed rates.

    摘要: A power monitor including a high power shunt connected in series with an electrical load to develop a signal proportional to current which is then modulated. A second signal proportional to the voltage across the load is developed by a voltage divider network. The two signals are applied as inputs to an electronic multiplier which produces a modulated output signal which is proportional to the power being dissipated by the load. The ouput signal from the multiplier is fed through an isolation transformer which passes the modulated power signal, but blocks the high load voltage. The power signal is then demodulated, filtered and displayed digitally on a meter. This signal is also provided as an analog output. An oscillator synchronizes both the demodulator and modulator, the oscillator drive of the modulator being isolated. When the load is a three-phase device, two such watt-meter modules are employed to measure the current and voltages associated with two of the three legs of the load, the output of the demodulators of the two modules are then summed, passed through a filter and displayed as a single power reading. During the summation process, the demodulated output signal is electrically scaled to read as horsepower, kilowatts, or percent of full scale.

    摘要: An optically coupled in-process gaging system is disclosed for use with numerically controlled machine tools wherein a battery-powered gage unit is enclosed in a housing adapted for retention in an automatic NC program controlled selection from the NC tool magazine. The gage unit can be placed in a machine tool device, such as a spindle, whose movement is directed by the NC program to place a gage transducer of the gage unit in contact with a workpiece to perform dimensional gaging. The gage unit converts an electrical transducer signal into an infra-red optical FM signal for wireless transmission to a receiver unit coupled to a microcomputer-based control unit.

    摘要: A caliper-type transducer for measuring a workpiece includes a pair of non-crossing pivot arms each having a contact end and a transducer end. The arms are interconnected for frictionless pivotal movement by a fixed pivot block and spring members which act to limit the displacement of the arms to complemental displacement in the plane of measurement. One arm carries two reactive elements mounted in spaced opposed relationship such that the transducer end of the other arm may be disposed therebetween to vary the reactances according to movement of the caliper ends which cause corresponding movement in their respective transducer ends. The change in reactances of the reactive elements are differentially sensed as the arms are displaced from an initial position when measuring the workpiece.

    摘要: An interconnection system for an electronic biological waveform simulator device utilized for testing the operability of a biological waveform sensing machine such as a vectorcardiogram machine. The system includes a housing with a major surface and a circuit board within the housing containing electrical circuitry for generating output signals simulating a biological waveform. A plate affixed to the major surface of the housing includes an undercut slot adapted to receive a disc-shaped electrode commonly used with the sensing machine. A connector disposed in the slot electrically connects the electrode, when engaged in the slot, with the circuitry. Preferably, the system includes a second connector projecting from an upper surface of the plate for receiving jacks utilized with disposable electrodes. In the preferred embodiment, the first and second connectors are electrically connected together so as to provide alternate signal paths for the simulated waveform from the electrical circuitry.
