    Abstract: A method for creating a weep hole is disclosed. The weep hole is drilled in an uncured, concrete, hollow core structural component having one or more external surfaces and one or more internal surfaces. The weep hole is drilled using a drilling apparatus comprising a drill, a rotating drill bit with an internal fluid passageway, a power source, and a pressurized fluid source. Loose, uncured concrete material deposited near the weep hole on the one or more internal surface as a result of drilling the weep hole is removed by releasing pressurized fluid which flows from the pressurized fluid source, through the drill and the rotating drill bit.

    Abstract: Gold nanoparticles are conjugated to phosphatidylserine-specific ligands for targeting and binding to surface-exposed phosphatidylserine on tumor cells and tumor vasculature. The ligand may be an annexin (e.g., annexin V). Tumor contrast is significantly increased using the targeted gold nanoparticles. Breast cancer tumors as small as 4 mm, for example, were detectable via computed tomography (CT) within 4 hours after injection of the conjugates, demonstrating usefulness of the conjugates as imaging agents. The targeted gold nanoparticle conjugate may further have a drug conjugated thereto that can be used therapeutically, for example, for cancer treatment. The gold nanoparticle conjugates can also be used for photothermal therapy and can be used in concert with an X-ray radiation treatment for cancer treatment.

    Abstract: An improved method for making cannabigerol (CBG) utilizing the following steps. CBG-containing material is contacted with an aqueous alkaline solution containing a hydroxide base and essentially no organic solvents, thereby extracting cannabinoids including carboxylic acids and salts and producing an alkaline extract. Non-soluble CBG-containing material is removed from the alkaline extract to produce a clarified alkaline extract. The extracted cannabinoids are decarboxylated and the resulting cannabigerol is crystallized/precipitated from the clarified alkaline extract at a pH greater than 7.

    Abstract: An improved mechanical dump valve for a liquid level control system. The dump valve comprises a splined shaft that communicates with the valve actuator by a toothed member, such as a splined bore in a dump valve hub. The dump valve also may include pressure ports. Still further, the present invention includes a liquid level control system comprising a trunnion assembly and a mechanical dump valve in which the trim motion of the float valve is transmitted by means of splined shafts in both the trunnion assembly and the dump valve assembly. The inventive system may comprise float weights for weighting the float accurately without having to drill the float and load it with sand or other weighting material. Also included is a kit for retrofitting existing liquid level control systems that use D-shaped connections with splined components.
