Abstract:
A stripwound hose expandable from a compressed state to a stretched state includes at least two spiral-wound strips having at least three telescoping portions in a direction of a longitudinal axis. The telescoping portions are arranged in axially overlapping relation, when the stripwound hose assumes the compressed state; and extend in axial side-by-side relation, when the stripwound hose assumes the stretched state. The telescoping portions are hooked to one another when being axially stretched.

Abstract:
Tertiary diamines having two saturated heterocyclic rings joined by an aliphatic carbon chain, of the general formula ##STR1## in which each A is a two- to four-membered aliphatic carbon chain substituted if desired by one or more C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl groups, are prepared in one stage by catalytic hydrogenation of the corresponding dinitriles of the general formula N.tbd.C--A--C.tbd.N II The diamines preparable in accordance with the invention are particularly suitable as catalysts for the production of polyurethanes.

Abstract:
Synchronization tracking in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver by obtaining a DFT output vector; determining a sample timing offset indication using reference symbols extracted from the DFT output vector; and adapting the OFDM symbol timing using said determined indication. To provide an improved post-DFT algorithm for estimating time tracking error in OFDM receivers the determining includes (a) estimating the channel transfer function at equidistant frequency positions using said reference symbols, for a first OFDM symbol; determining plural frequency correlations for said equidistant frequency positions for said OFDM symbol; (c) repeating steps (a) and (b) for subsequent OFDM symbols; (d) linearly combining said plural frequency correlations for said plural OFDM symbols obtained in steps (a) through (c), for obtaining said sampling clock offset indication wherein the linear combining uses nonzero weights only. An OFDM receiver circuit arrangement performing this method.
Abstract:
A decoupling element for a conduit includes an interior hose made of metal and a corrugated exterior hose surrounding the interior hose, with a hollow-cylindrical gap formed between the corrugated exterior hose and the interior hose. At least one damping element is arranged in the gap, with the damping element(s) constructed of a woven fabric made of a high-temperature-resistant material and having an outside surface with at least one bulge, wherein the bulge positively engages with a corrugation of the exterior hose. The exterior hose may be a membrane bellows. The woven fabric may be a metallic material. The at least one damping element covers, along the rotation axis, preferably a proportional length of at least 20% of the hollow-cylindrical gap and has preferably a static stiffness in the radial direction of less than 100 N/mm.

Methyl-5-(3-methyl piperidino)pentanamines of general formula ##STR1## in which one of the two radicals R.sup.1, R.sup.2 is hydrogen and the other methyl, are produced by two-stage hydrogenation from 2-methyl glutaronitrile. The compounds are suitable as catalysts in the production of polyurethanes.
Abstract:
A scope adjustment system includes a turret cap assembly, a saddle assembly, and a quick spanner assembly. The turret cap assembly includes a ring with a plurality of regularly spaced apart teeth residing circumferentially around the ring. The saddle assembly includes a transportation element in mechanical communication with a plunger. The saddle assembly includes a click element to engage the teeth of the ring. The quick spanner assembly includes a bolt that may be coupled to the transportation element, a cam lock hinged to the bolt, and a pressure plate residing between the bolt and the cam lock. The bolt can be screwed into the transportation element, and the cam lock can be set to apply a force on the pressure plate such that the transportation element engages the plunger. When engaged, the plunger is responsive to rotations of the turret cap to adjust, e.g., an aiming reticle.
