    Abstract: A liquid pressure control valve includes at least one O-ring seal mounted, in a first sealing position, on a sealing section of a first component thereof to seal a junction between that first component and a second component which junction controls a bleed passage between. The first component is threadingly engaged within the second component. The valve includes a chamber intended to contain liquid up to a required pressure during operation of the valve. The valve includes at least one annular impingement element mounted about a reduced diameter section, relative to the sealing section, of the first component and adjacent thereto with the impingement element. The impingement element includes a bore that tapers away from the O-ring seal, whereby with a pressure in excess of the required pressure acting on the O-ring it will be compressed at least partly into the bore of the impingement element and away from the O ring's first sealing position to take up a second non-sealing position and, with release of the excess pressure, return to its first sealing position.

    Abstract: A liquid control valve including a body comprising an inlet port, an outlet port, and an interior chamber, the body defining a liquid passageway between the inlet and outlet ports. Also included is a plunger comprising a groove provided on an external wall, the plunger being configured to reciprocate within the interior chamber of the body between a first position where the valve is closed and a second position where the valve is open. Also provided is a sealing arrangement within the groove configured to seal between the plunger and the interior chamber of the body. The sealing arrangement includes a first sealing element on the external wall of the plunger and spaced apart from an inner wall of the internal chamber, and a second sealing element on the inner wall of the internal chamber and spaced apart from the external wall of the plunger.

    Abstract: A float or a near neutral buoyancy weight operated liquid pressure control valve includes a body which together with an end cap form a cavity and retain a diaphragm therein. A back-pressure chamber is formed between the end cap and the diaphragm and the diaphragm includes a seal section which seats on an inlet port. The diaphragm seal also separates the inlet from an outlet formed in the body. A float support arm reciprocally operates a valve opening and closing control pin mounted in an associated bleed passage formed longitudinally through a control pin mounting. In an open mode the bleed passage vents the chamber. In a closed mode the pressure in the chamber displaces the diaphragm to close the valve. A slide is coupled to the diaphragm so as to be displaced therewith and prevent excessive pressure to distort the diaphragm once the seal closes on port.

    Abstract: A float or a near neutral buoyancy weight (neither depicted) operated liquid pressure control valve includes a body (1A) which together with an end cap (1B) form a cavity and retain a diaphragm (10) therein. A back-pressure chamber (4) is formed between the end cap (1B) and the diaphragm (10) and the diaphragm (10) includes a seal section (10F) which seats on an inlet port (6) formed by a wall (5) projecting into the cavity. The diaphragm (10) seal (10F) also separates the inlet (2) from an outlet (3) formed in the body (1A). A float support arm (7) reciprocally operates a valve opening and closing control pin (8) mounted in an associated bleed passage (9)formed longitudinally through a control pin (8) mounting (16). Mounting (16) is fixed to end cap (1B) and extends through the diaphragm (10), the bleed passage (9) thus joining the inlet (2) to the chamber (4). In an open mode (arm 7 lowered) the bleed passage (9) also vents the chamber (4). In a closed mode (arm 7 raised) owing to the greater area of the diaphragm (10) presented to the chamber (4) than to the inlet (2) the inlet pressure in the chamber (4) displaces the diaphragm (10) to close the valve. A slide (12) is coupled to diaphragm (10) as to be displaced therewith and prevent excessive inlet pressure distorting the diaphragm (10) once the seal (10F) closes on port (6). To that end the slide (12) is a working fit within the bore (1G) of the body (1A) and abuts against a stop (11) formed by shoulder (14)on bore (1G) as the valve closes.
