Abstract: A system for applying a first, a second, and a third coating composition. The system includes a first high transfer efficiency applicator defining a first nozzle orifice. The system further includes a second high transfer efficiency applicator defining a second nozzle orifice. The system further includes a third high transfer efficiency applicator defining a third nozzle orifice. The system further includes a substrate defining a target area. The first, the second, and the third high transfer efficiency applicators are configured to expel the first coating composition through the first nozzle orifice to the target area of the substrate, through the second nozzle orifice to the target area of the substrate, and through the third nozzle orifice to the target area of the substrate.

Abstract: Provided is a curable ink composition, in particular a curable inkjet ink composition. The ink composition has a dye monomer, a carrier monomer and an initiator. The dye monomer has a chromophore moiety that is covalently bonded to at least one polymerizable functional group and is present at 1.0 wt % or more based on total weight of the ink composition. The carrier monomer has at least one polymerizable functional group and is present in at 50 wt % or more based on total weight of the ink composition. The ink compositions are suitable for radiation curing such as UV curing and have good cure properties or light fastness properties.

Abstract: In an example of a method for three-dimensional (3D) printing, a polymeric build material is applied to form a build material layer. A fusing agent is selectively applied, based on a 3D object model, onto the build material layer to form a patterned portion. A hydrophobic agent is selectively applied, based on the 3D object model, onto at least a portion of the patterned portion. The hydrophobic agent includes a lipophilic phase discontinuously dispersed within an aqueous phase by a surfactant, wherein the lipophilic phase includes an organosilane having a central silicon atom coupled to a C6 to C24 aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon and multiple hydrolyzable groups, wherein the organosilane is present in the hydrophobic agent at from about 1 wt % to about 20 wt %. The build material layer is exposed to energy to selectively coalesce the patterned portion and form a 3D object layer having a hydrophobic portion.

Abstract: A multi-fluid kit for three-dimensional printing can include a fusing agent and a detailing agent. The fusing agent can include water and a radiation absorber. The radiation absorber absorbs radiation energy and converts the radiation energy to heat. The detailing agent includes a lipophilic phase discontinuously dispersed within an aqueous phase by a surfactant. The lipophilic phase includes an organosilane having a central silicon atom coupled to a C6 to C24 aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon and multiple hydrolyzable groups. The organosilane is present in the detailing agent at from about 1 wt % to about 20 wt %.

Abstract: Method of making color changing inkjet inks for security printing applications use photochromic materials that cause the inkjet ink to print marks that are colorless under ambient light and appear in a color when exposed to sunlight or UV light (covert). In another embodiment, the printed mark appears in a first color under ambient light, and changes to a second color when exposed to sunlight or UV light (overt). The methods of making the photochromic inks produce ink components that are stable and maintain their color changing capability for the shelf life of the printed material. The inkjet ink formulations are suitable for use on porous and non-porous surfaces, such as plain paper, coated paper, Teslin, polymer film, ceramic or metal, for example.
