摘要: An approach is provided for providing sleep mode associated with a resource frame structure. A superframe that includes a plurality of frames that is partitioned into sub-frames is detected. A length of listening window (115) is determined based on the number of frames. A sleep window (117) is determined based on the superframe and the sleep window length specifies duration of an inactive mode of operation and the listening window (115) specifies duration of an active mode of operation.

摘要: A system for transferring active communication sessions between apparatuses. In at least one example implementation, a first apparatus may receive information including at least identity information corresponding to a second apparatus via close-proximity wireless communication. The receipt of the identity information may then trigger the first apparatus to determine whether it is already in a communication session. If it is determined that the first apparatus is in a communication session, it may be further determined, based on the identity information, whether automatic transfer of the communication session is permitted. If the first apparatus determines that the automatic transfer is permitted, the first apparatus may then initiate a transfer of the communication session to the second apparatus.

摘要: A system for managing wireless communication in view of other potentially interfering wireless signal sources. Signal-related information may be collected from one or more apparatuses that are participating in a network. The information may then be evaluated in order to determine expected signal activity in the environment in which the apparatuses are operating. In some instances the signal activity may then be compared to a scan schedule utilized, for example, to identify legacy apparatuses operating in the environment. This scan schedule may be altered to avoid potential conflicts that may exist with the expected signal activity. The scan schedule may then be communicated to the networked apparatuses.
