    摘要: A sensing assembly senses varying parameters of a bearing mechanism. The bearing mechanism includes a circular bearing housing. The sensing assembly includes a sensor case. The sensor case is fixedly secured to the bearing mechanism. The sensor case includes a peripheral surface and a top plate with extensions protruding outwardly therefrom. The sensing assembly also includes a sensor housing that is removably insertable into the sensor case. The sensor housing selectively engages the extensions of the sensor case to secure the sensor housing in the sensor case at a location spaced from the bearing mechanism. The sensing assembly includes a sensor that is disposed within the sensor housing. The sensor senses the parameters of the bearing mechanism, wherein the sensor and the sensor housing may be removed from the bearing mechanism and replaced without replacing the bearing mechanism. The extensions may be bosses that have channels allowing heat stakes to extend therethrough or, in an alternative arrangement, the extensions may be notches that receive latches therein to removably lock the sensor in place.

The magnetic encoders are affixed to a traveling body. Two pairs of Hall Effect sensors are located near each of the first and second magnetic encoders and are configured to generate linear position signals. A processor is provided to process the linear position signals to generate an output signal indicative of a linear absolute position of the traveling body.

    摘要: An apparatus for sensing a position of an object is provided that may include a magnet having a set of magnetic flux properties, the magnet mounted for movement about an axis relative to the object and a magnetic field-sensing device mounted in fixed relation to and spaced from the magnet, the magnetic field-sensing device calibrated to sense a change in at least one magnetic flux property in response to movement of the magnet relative to the object and generate a data signal indicative of a position of the object. In one aspect the magnet is configured to have a substantially diamond shaped cross section and the magnetic field-sensing device is calibrated to sense a change in flux density distribution in response to a change in an air gap defined between an exterior surface of the magnet and the magnetic field-sensing device.

    摘要: A contactless latch engagement detector for a mechanical fastening system operating on the principle of magnetosensitivity. A magnetosensitive switch composed of a magnetosensitive device and at least one biasing magnet adjacent the magnetosensitive device are located in a buckle. Within or external to the buckle is an electronic circuit for driving the magnetosensitive device, and a flux bar composed of a ferromagnetic material having a high magnetic permeability is associated with a movable component of the system. In operation, the electronic circuit drives the magnetosensitive device, wherein its output is responsive to position of the flux bar relative to the magnetosensitive device. The flux bar moves responsive to position of a tongue within the buckle, whereby the fastened state of the mechanical (ie., seat belt) fastening system is detected when a predetermined output occurs.

    摘要: A sensor assembly is disclosed for measuring the position of a target object as it traverses a linear path of travel within a defined range of measurement. The sensor assembly comprises a ferromagnetic magnetic flux concentrator assembly. The flux concentrator assembly is configured as a generally u-shaped structure including a permanent magnet with elongated ferromagnetic flux concentrator elements affixed at the poles thereof and extending in substantially parallel fashion there from. A galvanomagnetic sensing element is disposed within an air gap between the free end portions of the flux concentrator elements and is displaceable along the longitudinal axis of the flux concentrator assembly. The galvanomagnetic sensing element is configured to provide an output signal indicative of the measured linear position as it travels along the longitudinal axis of the flux concentrator assembly.

    摘要: A robust, low cost, compact and highly accurate rotary position sensor is disclosed for measuring the relative angular position (within a range≦180°) of a housing or stator and a rotor. The housing carries a galvanomagnetic sensing element and is adapted for fixation to a relatively fixed portion of a host system. The rotor carrying a magnet is disposed for rotation about a fixed axis with respect to the stator and is interconnected to a relatively moving portion of the host system through intermediate linkage. The magnet is juxtaposed in substantially axial alignment with the galvanomagnetic sensing element for magnetic interaction therewith. The housing defines a cavity to receive potting material for encasing the galvanomagnetic sensing element and an adjacent buffer cavity interconnected by a weir, which diverts ant excess potting material into the buffer cavity.

    摘要: A sensing assembly senses angular speed and position of a device that rotates about an axis of rotation. The axis of rotation is defined with respect to a frame. The sensing assembly includes an encoder target wheel that is fixedly secured to the device. The encoder target wheel rotates about the axis of rotation with the device being measured. A first Hall effect sensor is fixedly secured to the frame at a predetermined distance from the axis of rotation. The first Hall effect sensor has a first output line and transmits a first output thereover. A second Hall effect sensor is also fixedly secured to the frame at the same predetermined distance from the axis of rotation. The second Hall effect sensor is offset from the first Hall effect sensor by ninety degrees. The second Hall effect sensor has a second output line and transmits a second output thereover. A controller is electrically connected to the first and second Hall effect sensors. The controller receives the first and second outputs. Once received, the controller calculates an angular position and a speed for said encoder target wheel and the device.

A hall effect device is fixed relative to the housing and protrudes between the first and the second magnets when the slider is in the second position. The hall effect device is configured to produce an output signal, the output signal being indicative of a seat belt tension of a seat belt as applied to the sensor assembly. A biasing member provides an urging force to the slider, the urging force urging the slider into the first position.
