摘要:
In the context of tracking systems, it is difficult to ensure that an organization has a complete, accurate database of contacts stored in its tracking system. When tracking systems users are required to manage exporting and importing of contacts from their desktop mail clients and handheld devices, it is almost certain that contact information will not be kept up-to-date and that confidence in the accuracy of the contact information will not be high. By enabling a remote directory access portal in the tracking system, all users can be assured that they have available the latest contact information for the organizations' contacts. In addition to providing directory access, the tracking system can authenticate users and, based on the users' entitlements, authorize users' access to specific contacts.

Aspects of the present invention provide an efficient way for the job seeker to search for a company that fits the seeker's desired cultural traits by enabling the job seeker to identify key traits sought after in a prospective employer, and to use those traits to focus the job search. Thus, a job seeker is able to use a formal framework for assessing a company culture, can have access to a more-comprehensive listing of companies that meet certain criteria, can identify traits that are the most and least relevant to a company's culture, and can, as a result, see relative rankings of companies along various cultural dimensions.

In the context of recruitment and sales, it is difficult to ensure that there is a consistent level of activity tracking that occurs in a Customer Relationship Management or Applicant Tracking System (CRM/ATS, tracking application, or tracking system) from one user (e.g., recruiter or sales representative) to another within a single firm. This is due in large part to the manual and time consuming mechanics of logging the activity. Example embodiments of the present invention include a mail server component that automatically logs such activity. The system determines who the email is being sent to and from, as well as whether the email contains calendar event (e.g., appointment) information. The system then searches a database to determine if the recipients of the email message are contacts in the tracking application. If a match is found, the message is automatically added to the contacts activity record as either an inbound email, outbound email, or appointment. Activity tracking is, thus, consistently maintained among all users, ensuring a higher quality of activity-based metrics.
