摘要: An apparatus for taking moving pictures, a method for taking moving pictures, and a novel pixel sensor array are disclosed. The apparatus includes a rectangular imaging array, a plurality of column processing circuits, and a controller. The rectangular imaging array is characterized by a plurality of rows and columns of UHDR pixel sensors and a plurality of readout lines, and a plurality of row select lines. Each column processing circuit is connected to a corresponding one of the plurality of readout lines. The controller causes the rectangular imaging array to measure a plurality of images of a scene that is illuminated by a pulsating light source characterized by an illumination period and a dark period. Each of the images is generated in a frame period which includes an exposure period and a dead period, the dead period being less than the dark period.

摘要: The system for an antenna assembly for use on unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV). The antennas are low-cost, lightweight, single-use, and have a small form factor amenable to use on a micro-UUV. A central post and pivotally attached arms form an antenna (e.g., a monopole) that is lifted via an aerial, kite, or the like, when deployed from the UUV to extend the line of site of the antenna several meters above the surface of the water. In some cases, the antenna may be used on a number of UUVs in a swarm formation.

摘要: Methods and structures are disclosed for providing autonomous control of an underwater vehicle using a state machine. A controller is used onboard the underwater vehicle and includes a state machine having a plurality of operating states. Each of the plurality of operating states includes one or both of entrance criteria and exit criteria. The controller is configured to transition from executing a first operating state of the plurality of operating states to executing a second operating state of the plurality of operating states in response to the exit criteria of the first operating state and the entrance criteria of the second operating state both being met. The plurality of operating states includes a first portion of operating states associated with a first task, a second portion of operating states associated with a second task, and a third portion of operating states associated with both the first and second tasks.

摘要: A Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) objective and relay lens system has an F# of 3.33 and angular field of view of 15.28°. It is deployed, with a focal plane and scanning system, on airborne platforms for wide area motion imagery. It is corrected for monochromatic and chromatic aberrations over of 3.3 to 5.1 micrometers. Effective focal length is 20 inches, and the overall length is 40.70 inches. The lens has, from object to image, two groups of optical elements with a cold shield/aperture stop 6 inches from the image plane. Group 1 acts as an objective lens with a positive power and three elements, Group 2 acts as a relay lens has a positive power and four elements. The lens is made of Germanium and Silicon. It used in a scanning system in a pre-objective configuration where the fast scan mirror is located in front of the lens system.

The method comprises: performing a first pass P1 of FSW of the joint J by moving therealong a first tool (10), comprising a first probe (100) rotating in a first rotational direction RD1, in a first movement direction MD1 defining a first line L1, on a first side S1 of the joint J, comprising: inserting the first probe (100) to a first depth D1, thereby providing a first welded region WR1; withdrawing at least partially the first probe (100), thereby providing a first partially welded and/or unwelded region PWUR1; and fully withdrawing the first probe (100), thereby resulting in a first exit hole EXH1; performing a second pass P2 of FSW of the joint J by moving therealong a second tool (20), comprising a second probe (200) rotating in a second rotational direction RD2, in a second movement direction MD2 defining a second line L2, on the first side S1 of the joint J, comprising: inserting the second probe (200) to a second depth D2, thereby providing a second welded region WR2; optionally withdrawing at least partially the second probe (200); and fully withdrawing the second probe 200, thereby resulting in a second exit hole EXH2; wherein the second welded region WR2 includes the first exit hole EXH1; and wherein the second exit hole EXH2 is included in the first welded region WR1.
