摘要： A nail and nail clip arrangement in which so-called common nails may have their shanks grit-blasted and the edge of their heads flattened along equal parallel planes to provide a minor diametral dimension of the nail head that is approximately twice the diameter of the nail shank. The heads are alternately offset laterally in contact with each other in two rows and with the heads of the two rows alternately cross-engaging and the shanks of the nails interdigitate at an acute angle adjacent their points. The end nail at the feed end of one row extends beyond the next adjacent nail of the other row far enough for a powered driver to nip off and drive the lead nail upon actuation of the power mechanism.

摘要： An encoded card having a layer of light-transmitting elements such as fibers extending between two edges, the fibers being individually capable of transmitting magnetic radiant energy, in the visible, ultraviolet or infrared spectral regions. The ends of the energy-transmitting fibers along at least one edge of the card are irregularly arranged in a linear information-related pattern which is decoded into discrete information such as numbers, letters or words by transmitting electromagnetic radiation, such as visible or invisible light through the fibers and sensing and decoding the transmitted pattern. The card is encoded either by selectively placing the fibers; or by cutting, removing, or otherwise impairing the energy-transmitting ability of selected fibers.

摘要： A flexible sealing strip having an inner edge receivable in a groove bordering the perimeter of a movable member, this edge having spaced apart recesses, each one registering with a corner on said perimeter. The portion of the sealing strip projecting beyond the groove is bent so as to have its outer edge yieldingly and slidably contacting with the adjacent wall surface of the enclosure in which the member moves. The recesses in the sealing strip permit the outer strip edge to be continuous in length without any recesses therein and yet permit the strip to be bent sharply in order to conform to the shape of the perimeter of the movable member.
