摘要: Systems, methods, and computer products for separating file data streams for improved progressive incremental processing are provided. The method comprises identifying data in a file, prior to transmission of the data in a data stream to a second system, such that the second system can distinguish first data from second data in the file. The method further comprises processing the first and second data to determine whether the first or second data has changed, and transmitting the first data to the second system in response to determining the first data has changed, so that the first data is stored in a data storage medium in association with third and fourth data previously stored without replacing the third data and fourth data, wherein the third and fourth data comprise older versions of the first and second data, respectively.

摘要: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture wherein a set of communication paths between a plurality of data movers and a plurality of storage devices is maintained. A request to transfer data from a source storage device to a target storage device is received, wherein the source storage device and the target storage device are included in the plurality of storage devices. At least one data mover from the plurality of data movers is selected based on the set of communication paths, wherein the selected at least one data mover can transfer the data from the source storage device to the target storage device.

摘要: LAN-managed storage volumes are managed by a LAN storage manager installed on a storage management server. In processing a LAN-free storage volume request, the LAN tape manager selects a LAN-managed storage volume responsive to the LAN-free storage volume allocation request wherein the LAN-managed storage volume is initialized as a candidate for a LAN-free storage operation. The LAN-managed storage volume may be initialized by the LAN storage manager as a candidate for a LAN-free storage operation prior to the LAN storage manager receiving the LAN-free storage volume allocation request or in response to the LAN storage manager receiving the LAN-free storage volume allocation request. Additionally, prior to being initialized as a candidate for a LAN-free storage operation, the LAN-managed storage volume may be a pre-existing storage volume or a scratch storage volume.

摘要: Provided are a method, system, and program for performing database operations. A request is received to access database resources from a client over a network. An entry is added to a monitor list indicating a last access time to the database by the client, wherein the entry is associated with an access of database resources in response to the received request. The monitor list is scanned to determine an entry where a difference of a current time and last access time exceeds a timeout threshold. A calling a function is indicated in the entry. The function causes an abort operation to be performed to terminate the access of database resources associated with the determined entry.

摘要: A method of restoring data in a computer network system wherein a plurality of client systems have access to a storage pool coupled to an associated storage area network (SAN) includes: requesting a restore wherein each of the plurality of client systems may participate in the restore; and coordinating access to the data stored in the storage pool by tracking a plurality of data portions of the data to be restored and by blocking access to each of the plurality of data portions that have been restored by one of the plurality of client systems to avoid duplicative restoration efforts. A master restore table may also be constructed to assist with coordinating access to the stored data. A computer network system configured to coordinate a restore request where a plurality of client systems may participate in the restore is also provided.

摘要: Provided is a method, system, and program for updating data in a database table in response to requests from a requesting application comprising one of a first application at a first version level and a second application at a second version level. The first application recognizes the table as including a subset of columns in the table that is less than all the columns in the table and the second application recognizes the table as including all the columns in the table. A request is received from the requesting application for specified columns from one record in the table and the requested record is accessed. A data structure is generated including data from the specified columns in the requested record. A determination is made as to whether the requesting application is capable of recognizing all the columns in the table. If so, data from each column in the table that is not one of the subset of columns is added to the data structure. The data structure is returned to the requesting application.

摘要: Disclosed is a method, embodiable in computer readable program code in a network resource, for dynamically changing a network protocol management information base (MIB) module, the protocol requiring predetermined fixed fields in the MIB module. The method comprises inserting a variable in one of the predetermined fixed fields in the MIB module, and providing a first path for dynamically setting a reference to a script which substitutes for the variable, the referenced script defining a user option for operating the network resource. The referenced script operation may sense a value related to the network resource. A second path is provided to the script reference, whereby a query on the second path activates the script operation to provide the value at the MIB, and the provided value is delivered on the second path. The referenced script operation may additionally comprise conducting an operation of the network resource, and the value relates to the operation of the network resource. The second path provided to the script reference allows a query on the second path to activate the script operation and to provide the value at the MIB.
