    摘要： A printer for use with a label assembly having a liner and a plurality of labels. The printer may include a peeling edge, a drive subassembly, and a manually actuatable peel-selector subassembly. The drive subassembly may be configured to move the label assembly through the printer and over the peeling edge. The peel-selector subassembly may be configured to enable a user to manually select between a non-peel mode and a peel mode. In a non-peel mode, the label assembly is moved over the peeling edge with the labels are attached to the liner; that is, labels are not removed from the liner while being dispensed from the printer. In a peel mode, the label assembly is moved over the peeling edge so that the labels are separated or peeled away from the liner.

    摘要： A label sheet assembly is provided with bar code information thereon defining the layout of the labels on the backing sheet. A versatile label dispenser apparatus advances the label sheets and deflects them over a peeling bar in one direction to partially separate the labels from the backing sheet; with the advancing action being determined by the bar code information. The label sheet assemblies are then deflected in the opposite direction, and are routed in a substantially flat condition to the output of the dispenser apparatus. The labels are partially dispensed, substantially vertically from the dispenser, and a substantial number of sensors are provided to sense when all of the labels have been removed; and then the dispenser advances the label sheet assembly to partially dispense the next row of labels. The bar code reader may also sense the leading edge of the label sheet assembly to accurately control the incremental advancing of the label sheet assembly.

    摘要： A modular integrated software and hardware suite accepts data exported from a voter registration database corresponding to requests for mail ballots, sorts the information as necessary for ballot preparation, creates a road map for ballot mailing preparation, provides for mail presorting, scans returned ballot envelopes using a ballot envelope scanner, accepts data from such ballot envelope scanner, and matches the data from the scanned returned ballots with information in the voter registration database, sorts ballots that cannot be electronically matched to a particular voter into a separate stack for manual processing, automates the signature verification process for electronically matched ballots, and returns updated data to the voter registration database. A ballot envelope scanner uses a passive feed system, a separator brush, a variable speed straight paper path to minimize jamming through the ballot envelope scanner. The ballot envelope scanner also works in connection with a workstation application to interpret a barcode, store an image of the ballot envelope signature in association with a specific voter, print an endorsement on each verified ballot envelope, store the endorsement with the signature image, or alternatively divert ballot envelopes with unrecognizable or unmatched barcodes to a separate tray for manual processing.
