摘要： The subject application is directed to a system and method for remote, thin-client based alteration of document processing device user interface views. Data is first received into a thin-client interface of pre-set user interface views associated with document processing devices, and preview images of each pre-set interface are generated on the thin-client. Interface selection data, indicative of a selected pre-set user interface from the plurality of interfaces, is then received via the thin-client interface. Customization data, corresponding to modification of the selected pre-set user interface, is then received via the thin-client interface. An updated preview image of a modified user interface rendered in accordance with the received customization data is then generated, and custom interface data of the modified interface is communicated to an associated document processing device so as to generate the modified user interface on an associated display panel.

摘要： The subject application is directed to a system and method for customizing a document processor interface. A user successfully logs onto a document processing device and selects to generate a customized graphical user-interface. When the user has previously created such an interface, the device retrieves stored selection data associated with the user and uses such data to selectively generate a customized interface. To create the customized interface, the user first selects desired functions to be displayed. The selected functions are then stored in association with user identification information by the device. A tangible output document is capable of being generated inclusive of encoded indicia representing selection data and user identification information. Subsequent scanning of the tangible output document by the device, or another document processing device, enables the scanning device to authenticate the user and generate a customized interface in accordance with the selection data contained in the encoded indicia.

摘要： A system and method for sharing updated document templates. A user first selects whether to request a desired document processing operation involving one or more stored scan templates or to modify one of the stored templates. The document scan templates are stored on an associated storage, with each scan template including schema data. The schema data represents attributes associated with the corresponding template. When the user requests a document processing operation, a list of templates associated with the operation are retrieved and displayed to the user. The user then selects the desired template, inputs modification data, and the document processing device performs the selected operation on the updated template. When the user elects to modify a template, the user opens the schema associated therewith, inputs the modifications, and stores the template in the template storage for use by devices on the network. Creation of a new template requires the user to input schema data, attributes and classes, and then save the new template in the template storage.

摘要： A system and method for enabling a cross-compatible address book for multiple document processing devices. First address data is first received in a first format and tested to determine the compatibility of the first address data relative to the second format. The first address data is then selectively converted, according to the output from the compatibility testing, into the second format. The converted address data is then stored in a common address book storage area. Next, the common address book is searched in response to a received address query. The result data communicatively output representing the result of the search of the common address book in response to the received address query.

Next, data corresponding to the service operation on the document processing device is logged into an associated data storage after the commencement of the operation. The service operation is then concluded upon the completion of the operation. A report format instruction is then received after the completion of the service operation. 摘要： A system and method for tracking errors in a document processor during document processing operations. The system uses a job monitor that monitors the document processing operations performed by an associated document processing device. The job monitor periodically receives job status data indicating the status of the job being processed. When the job status indicates that an interruption in the processing of the job has occurred, an alert notification message is generated. The alert notification message includes the name of the job interrupted, the type of interruption, and the amount of the job completed prior to the interrupt. The alert notification message is then transmitted to a designated destination corresponding to a user application from which the job originated or to a system administrator application.

A page image is then generated from the electronic document data on a touchscreen user interface panel associated with the document processing device. A signature area is then generated on the touchscreen and positioned relative to a selected portion of the page image via the dragging of the signature area to a selected portion of the page image. Signature image data is then received and an image corresponding to the received signature image data is superimposed on the positioned signature area. A composite document output is thereafter generated of the electronic document data and the signature image data, with the signature image formed in the positioned signature area.
