摘要： A system and method for sharing updated document templates. A user first selects whether to request a desired document processing operation involving one or more stored scan templates or to modify one of the stored templates. The document scan templates are stored on an associated storage, with each scan template including schema data. The schema data represents attributes associated with the corresponding template. When the user requests a document processing operation, a list of templates associated with the operation are retrieved and displayed to the user. The user then selects the desired template, inputs modification data, and the document processing device performs the selected operation on the updated template. When the user elects to modify a template, the user opens the schema associated therewith, inputs the modifications, and stores the template in the template storage for use by devices on the network. Creation of a new template requires the user to input schema data, attributes and classes, and then save the new template in the template storage.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a system and method for the assisted entry of database schema entries. Schema input data is first received from an associated user and tested for acceptability. When the schema input data is unacceptable following the testing, the associated user is then prompted for corrected schema input data. The presence of software tools required to implement the schema instructions specified by the schema input data is then tested and a signal is generated when such required software is absent. A representation of the complete schema is then generated, including the schema input data, and the associated user is prompted to confirm the acceptability of the complete schema setup. The associated user then confirms the acceptability of the complete schema setup and the schema input data is then communicated, following user confirmation, to an associated database server for implementation.

The system includes a file generator, which generates an encrypted file containing data representing multiple usernames and a corresponding number of passwords. The encrypted file is then transmitted to each networked data device on the network. Connection data is then received representing an acceptance via a workstation of an entry of a username and password relative to data in the encrypted electronic file. A selected, shared networked device is then selectively enabled upon receipt of the connection data.

Data is first received into a thin-client interface of pre-set user interface views associated with document processing devices, and preview images of each pre-set interface are generated on the thin-client. Interface selection data, indicative of a selected pre-set user interface from the plurality of interfaces, is then received via the thin-client interface. Customization data, corresponding to modification of the selected pre-set user interface, is then received via the thin-client interface. An updated preview image of a modified user interface rendered in accordance with the received customization data is then generated, and custom interface data of the modified interface is communicated to an associated document processing device so as to generate the modified user interface on an associated display panel.

A user successfully logs onto a document processing device and selects to generate a customized graphical user-interface. When the user has previously created such an interface, the device retrieves stored selection data associated with the user and uses such data to selectively generate a customized interface. To create the customized interface, the user first selects desired functions to be displayed. The selected functions are then stored in association with user identification information by the device. A tangible output document is capable of being generated inclusive of encoded indicia representing selection data and user identification information. Subsequent scanning of the tangible output document by the device, or another document processing device, enables the scanning device to authenticate the user and generate a customized interface in accordance with the selection data contained in the encoded indicia.
