The variable antenna apparatus includes a radiation component that is rotatably coupled with the mobile terminal, a feeding component that is adjacent to a first end part of the radiation component and electrically connected to a radio frequency board of the mobile terminal. A grounding component is adjacent to the first end part of the radiation component and selectively connected to a ground of the radio frequency board as the radiation component is rotated. The antenna apparatus is accommodated in a terminal so that it is possible to conveniently carry the terminal, and the antenna is rotatably protruded from the terminal during a telephone call, such that appropriate antenna gain is achieved.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for supplying information so that power consumption in a digital broadcast receiving terminal can be reduced and a user can use an appropriate antenna depending on a situation. The digital broadcast receiving terminal includes an external antenna detachably assembled with the outside of the terminal a switch unit for selecting any one among the internal antennas and the external antenna, and a signal-receiving condition sensing unit capable of sensing the signal-receiving condition of the internal antennas and the external antenna. If it is impossible to receive the digital broadcast signal by using the internal antennas, the external antenna is used. If the external antenna is mounted, power is supplied only to an RF unit connected to the external antenna and the power supply to the remaining RF unit is cut off, reducing power consumption.

The method includes terminating driving of a motion recognition program according to whether an input is detected by at least one sensor unit disposed in the portable terminal, and switching a mode of a controller included in the portable terminal into a motion recognition deactivation mode. The motion sensor-based portable terminal can reduce the power consumption, thereby lengthening the life span of the battery. The user can use the motion sensor-based portable terminal for a long period of time without frequently recharging its battery.
