摘要: A method for managing a communication link in a communication network (100) is provided. The method enables exchange of data between a first communication device (102) and at least one second communication device (104). The method includes providing a continuous actuation button (210) configured to initiate the communication link. Further, the method includes initiating the communication link when a force applied on the continuous actuation button exceeds a first force threshold. Furthermore, the method includes sampling the force applied on the continuous actuation button at periodic time intervals. Moreover, the method includes detecting a release event of the continuous actuation button when the force applied on the continuous actuation button reaches a second force threshold. Moreover, the method includes maintaining the communication link for a predefined period of time after detecting the release event at the continuous actuation button. The communication link is maintained based on the sampled force.

摘要: The present solution includes a method for reporting a status indicator using a mobile device during a disaster. In the method, a status indicator can be entered into a mobile communication device. The status indicator can he communicated to a disaster response system. The disaster response system can also automatically determine a location of the mobile communication device. The disaster response system can make the status indicator and the location available to concerned parties. The location and status indicators can be continuously updated for a duration of a disaster allowing the concerned parties to receive current information about subscribers. In one embodiment, a set of previously established actions associated with user developed disaster response plan can be initiated by the disaster response system.

摘要: A method and system for PTT management includes a PTT server (100) and a plurality of PTT devices (110) associated with the members of a PTT group (120) via a wireless network (130). The PTT server can include, or be coupled to, a mass storage device storing a database of member information (106) and a schedule (105). The stored schedule can use a scheduling application or module used to define the order of activities by each member of the PTT group to participate, to assign a time for an activity of each member, or to enter other information associated with the PTT group event. The member information can include contact information, task sign-on/sign-off information, current network status information, current availability information, alternative availability information, and request information. The plurality of devices is used to maintain contact and coordinate activities among the members of the PTT group.

摘要: A system, method and computer readable medium are provided for facilitating a multiplayer game over a wireless network. According to the method, a request to transfer information between two of the wireless devices is received during the multiplayer game (e.g., 804), with the information being at least one of text, audio, and image information. It is determined whether the requested transfer is permitted according to a set of predefined rules for the multiplayer game (808), and the information is transferred between the two wireless devices only if it is determined that the predefined rules permit the requested transfer (810). Also provided are a wireless device (e.g., 106) for use with a multiplayer game and a server (e.g., 102) for facilitating a multiplayer game over a wireless network.

摘要: A method (500) for selectively improving output multimedia quality on a mobile station (105). The method can include detecting a circumstance in which a user of the mobile station would benefit from receiving high quality multimedia information (120) as opposed to multimedia information presented in a standard manner. Responsive to the detected circumstance, at least one parameter of a communication signal which communicates the multimedia information to the mobile station can be configured to provide the multimedia information at a quality that is higher than a standard quality at which multimedia information otherwise would be provided. Circumstances that can be detected include whether the mobile station is activated in an environment having high background noise, whether the mobile station is activated in a vehicle, and/or whether the mobile station is moving at a rate of speed that is at least equal to a threshold value.

摘要: Within a mobile communication device (100), a method (300) of specifying two or more musical notes for substantially concurrent playback can include receiving (302) an input specifying a root note (FIG. 2 ) indicating a position on a neck of a stringed instrument and associating (308) at least one column of input keys such as numeric keys (115) of the mobile communication device with a string of the stringed instrument (130). Numeric keys next to one another and within a same column can specify notes which vary by approximately a half-step (130). The method also can include detecting (312) at least one activation of the numeric keys specifying at least one additional note to be played substantially concurrently or in a defined sequence with the root note (FIG. 5 ), thereby specifying a musical chord.

摘要: In a radio communication system (100), radios initiating calls have their radio IDs stored by other radios in the radio communication system. The radio initiating the call can then send a voice request to a select one of the other radios in the system to establish a private conversation or other type of radio call (e.g., call alert, etc.) requiring the ID of the initiator radio. Since the other radios in the system automatically stored the ID of the radio initiating the call, they can establish a call with the initiator radio without even knowing that radio's ID number.
