A geographic information providing system in a personal webpage is disclosed. The geographic information providing system can include a GPS information storing unit, receiving GPS coordinate information related to a location of a user and additional information from a mobile communication terminal and storing the received GPS coordinate information and additional information; a map data loading unit, loading map data having a location corresponding to the GPS coordinate information if a request to access the stored GPS coordinate information and additional information is received; and a temporary layer generating controlling unit, generating a temporary layer to mark the location corresponding to the GPS coordinate information on a loaded map in a form capable of being identified by the user and providing control information for displaying the location corresponding to the GPS coordinate information.

Provided are a method and apparatus for driving a PDP for widening a driving margin and improving contrast. The method for driving a PDP includes a first step of forming wall charges in cells with a set-up discharge using a set-up signal in a first sub-field and erasing the wall charges with a set-down discharge using a first set-down signal to initialize the cells, and a second step of erasing the wall charges with a set-down discharge generated using a second set-down signal different from the first set-down signal in a second sub-field, to initialize the cells. The method and apparatus for driving a PDP uniformly initialize sub-fields to widen the driving margin of PDP and remove a set-up discharge in at least one sub-field to improve the contrast of PDP.

The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus including a sustain driving apparatus that supplies a sustain signal to a panel. The plasma display apparatus includes a panel in which a front substrate having formed first and second electrodes therein and a rear substrate are coalesced, a sustain driver including a first switch for applying a first voltage to any one of the first and second electrodes and a second switch for applying a second voltage, and a circuit protection unit that controls one of the first and second switches, which has a voltage higher than a predetermined voltage, at its both ends, not to turn on. According to the present invention, when a voltage at both ends of the switch included in the sustain driving apparatus in order to supply the sustain signal is higher than a reference voltage, the switch is controlled not to turn on. It is therefore possible to prevent damage due to the short of the sustain driving apparatus and, therefore, to improve the lifespan and reliability of a product.

Disclosed herein is a method and apparatus for driving a plasma display panel, which improves contrast characteristics and preventing a low discharge making a cell non-luminous at a specific gray scale. The method for driving a plasma display panel includes the steps of initializing a cell by supplying a first write voltage and an erase voltage to a scanning electrode during a reset interval of the n-th sub-field; initializing the cell by supplying the erase voltage and a second write voltage which is higher than a sustaining voltage and lower than the first write voltage to the scanning electrode during a reset interval of the (n+1)-th sub-field; selecting the cell by supplying the scanning voltage to the scanning electrode and supplying a data voltage to an address electrode during an address interval of each of the n-th and (n+1)-th sub-fields; and alternatively supplying the sustaining voltage to the scanning and sustaining electrodes during a sustaining interval of each of the n-th and (n+1 )-th sub-fields.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus and driving method of the same. Since wall charges are remained without performing an additional erasing discharge after the sustain period is terminated and before the initiation of the reset period, the set up discharge can be generated with a small voltage during the reset period to obtain the margin of the driving voltage. In particular, since the highest voltage of the reset period during other subfields is lower than the highest voltage of the reset period of a subfield implementing a low gray scale, with inducing the half discharge before the set up discharge in other subfields, the set up discharge can be generated with a low voltage to improve the contrast due to the luminous output reduction.
